Abandoned Cincinnati Subway System

Post by Linkin5 »

I can't believe I had never heard of this.  Apparently, Cincinnati in the early 1900s basically knew they weren't going to have enough funds to build a subway system but started one anyway.  There are some pretty cool photos on this site.

To me, it seems like the most expensive part is done?  Couldn't they lay some track now and get the thing running?  All those tunnels still in good condition?

Apparently the tunnels are in extremely good condition because they have been maintained over the years.  I think it said there was a proposal to get it going and it would cost like 2.6 billion.

EDIT read that wrong that was for the entire project that would have stretched further.
