I can't believe I had never heard of this. Â Apparently, Cincinnati in the early 1900s basically knew they weren't going to have enough funds to build a subway system but started one anyway. Â There are some pretty cool photos on this site. Â

To me, it seems like the most expensive part is done? Â Couldn't they lay some track now and get the thing running? Â All those tunnels still in good condition?

Apparently the tunnels are in extremely good condition because they have been maintained over the years. I think it said there was a proposal to get it going and it would cost like 2.6 billion.Brad wrote:To me, it seems like the most expensive part is done? EDIT read that wrong that was for the entire project that would have stretched further.
