Light Rail is coming to KC

I was in KC last week for a conference, and noticed a ton of construction along Main Street, for over a mile, between the train station and P&L. My hotel's shuttle driver told me the city was working fast and furious to get a light rail line in place and running between Crown Center and the Missouri River, a total of about 3 miles. There are additional plans to add connecting routes in later years.

They'll probably connect to the plaza next, I suppose.

As I understand it there was a public vote on extending it and it was voted down.

In other light rail news, the home of the auto is building phase one of a light rail project on Detroit's version of Dodge Street.
