$27M rail yard relocation deal 'game changing' for city

This has been in the works for at least 10 years. There were a lot of people up there who wanted the new event center to be built in this area. The Current Mayor pushed for the event center to be built by the old saying more development would follow around it. Interestingly, most of the recent development has happened downtown. The mayor is quoted as saying "the rail yard relocation project is more significant for Sioux Falls
than the building of the Denny Sanford Premier Center,

It would have been interesting to see how the downtown area would have developed if the event center had also been built downtown.

I saw this in the other day on the Train Magazine News Wire.

It seems like it will be like Lincoln. The Railroad will still cut through the area, just won't have all the extra yard tracks. I agree that it would be nice if the event center was down there too, then it would have been a lot like Lincoln.
