The average increase in salary and benefits packages will be 19 percent, according to the new salary schedule, released this week. Last year compensation rose 14 percent.
"We're extremely competitive and leading the market," Superintendent Jim Lowham said.
In just two years the base pay for a first-year teacher with a bachelor's degree has risen from $28,114 to $40,808.
Side note --- Metro areas schools are somewhere around 29000-31000 starting I think.
Natrona County SD is a good district and the state of WY has lots of money to put into education these days.
Also there is no state income tax and property are very low. But housing in Casper has skyrocketed in the last 5 years or so. The house I sold in 2000 for 98000 was on the market two yrs ago for 168000.
