Omaha/CB CSA 838,325 (2004) 849,170 (2005)

Des Moines MSA 512,340 (2004) 522,454 (2005) (Polk, Dallas, Madison, Guthrie, & Warren counties)

Des Moines CSA 582,727 (2004) 593,112 (2005) (includes the counties named above as well as Jasper & Marion counties)

Quad Cities CSA 375,293 (2004) 376,309 (2005)

Cedar Rapids CSA 244,306 (2004) 246,412 (2005)

Waterloo/Cedar Falls CSA 161,596 (2004) 161,897 (2005)

Sioux City CSA 156,135 (2004) 155,566 (2005)

Iowa City CSA 149,232 (2004) 149,568 (2005)

Ames/Boone CSA 106,675 (2004) 106,554 (2005)

These numbers don't include the micro's of Ft. Dodge, Ottumwa, Muscatine, etc. Bottom line, Iowa is becoming more and and more urban every year.

Good to see that Omaha's still the biggest city in Iowa.

67% of Nebraska's population lives in metros in excess of 250,000 people.

I guess that sounds more impressive than "67% of Nebraska's population lives in Omaha or Lincoln" ? :)

It's all of those 100k plus cities which really sets Iowa apart from Nebraska. I suppose it will take another 100+ years before we add another 100k population msa. :shock:
