Grand Island restaurant suggestions?

Post by Big E »

Anyone have suggestions for a good restaurant in Grand Island?  Something that can handle a group of 15 or so for a family event, that isn't just chicken fingers and cheeseburgers?

You know, I almost added "...that isn't Red Lobster" to the end of my question.

There are few restaurant options out in Grand Island:

Ruby Tuesday
Carlos O Kelly's
Applebees
Chicken Coop
Johnny Casinos
Hy Vee (in store restaurant)
Pizza Hut
Godfathers
Perkins

Hope that helps!

I might add:

Uncle Ed's Steakhouse
Whiskey Creek Steakhouse
Texas T-Bone

A couple of places that are chicken strip and cheeseburger, but some more stuff and worth a visit for way better than average atmosphere would include:
Nathan Detroits
Balz Sports Bar

Rafas Tacos food bears no resemblance to much that you'd find at Amigos. Rafa told me one day that his badge of honor is that many of the employees of the other so called "authentic" Mexican food places in town are friends of his... he sees them frequently eating at his place.

He finally added hard shell tacos to the menu last year, just because so many people asked for it. His soft tacos are incredible!
