The 74-year-old Tibetan spiritual leader and Nobel Peace Prize laureate will visit the university in Cedar Falls on May 18. It's his first trip to Iowa.

He will participate in a morning panel discussion about violence-prevention education, then give a speech that afternoon. Tickets to the panel discussion cost $15, and the cost of attending the speech range from $50 to $15. There is also a $2 handling charge.

 Its religion.  What do you want him to shave a basketball into the side of his head and keep up with fashion trends?  By the way, have you ever read anything he has written or any Buddhist teachings?

The Dalai Lama is the spiritual leader of the least obnoxious (I think) major religion in the world. I've had the pleasure of working with several Buddhists over the years----I think they're on to something.
