DSM Downtown Development Lauded in NYTimes
Des Moines' extensive downtown development is praised in this piece from the New York Times.

Na... DTO has changed his mind about DMS.... Its amazing what some booze and a drag show will do to one's opinion! :;):the1wags wrote:Shhhhhh! You'll upset a few people that think Omaha is far and away better than Des Moines.

Hmmm. That number for DSM's downtown workers seems a little high. I have nothing to base that on, though. I'm guessing they would include the capitol and all the state offices around there, too, which would account for a lot of workers. In terms of distance, I'd say that would be like including Mutual, Keiwit, and Creighton's workers in the DTO worker population, and maybe they do. I don't know that either.
Can anyone shed some light?
