IAIS Steam Locomotive

One of the Two Iowa Interstate Steam Locomotives is on its way to Council Bluffs today.  last report had it in DesMoines.  It sould be to Council Bluffs by 5pm

Earlham
Dexter
Stuart
Menlo
Casey
Adair
Anita
Wiota
Atlantic
Hancock (south of town)
McClelland
Highway 6 (1/2 Mile east of Interstate 80)
McPherson Ave (Just east of I80)
Franklin Ave (Just east of I80)
Madison Ave (Next to No Frills)
Harry Langdon Blvd
Council Bluffs IAIS Yard.

Saturday the train will run back and fourth between Atlantic and Anita to raise money for the Volunteer Fire Departments.

Had a mechanical issue.  It may be a bit late.

Back again for the first time since 2013!

Not many chances to see mainline steam in 2019!

QJ 6988
Headed to Stewart, IA Friday
Fireman’s trips out of Menlo, IA Saturday
Fireman’s trips out of Anita, IA Sunday.
Then to Council Bluffs, IA Sunday night to turn
Back to Newton, IA Monday.

The QJ 6988 is a large 2-10-2 Steam Locomotive weighing in at 133 tons.
