Finally!  It's almost done.  This was a project 24 years in the making.  It all started with I-80/I-480 in 1989 and now it's ending between Waverly and the 56th Street exit in Lincoln.

I kind of wish there was a way to troll people into thinking that that they were legitimately going to begin construction soon on widening I-80 to 8 lanes.

Isn't there still like a half mile stretch in the 680 interchange that is still only two lanes each way on 80?

How about this:

The planned expansion of the additional 5 lanes near Greenwood may be threatened by a tiny fish.

Environmental Protection Agency and Fish and Wildlife Agents note that the rare and threatened sub-species of salt tolerant minnows will be threatened by loss of habitat with the planned diversion of two small tributaries away from the Salt Creek and directly into the Platte River.  This diversion is necessary in order to accomodate the new dual lane on ramp that will connect Highway 6 to I-80, which will allow for further expansion of housing in the area by facilitating commuting.

Feel free to quote the headline and the intro to the story as "published on the Omaha Forum" elsewhere.  We can then sit back and see if it and how it comes back to us ala Daily Currant stories.

Yes, there is not just at I-680, but at L Street, too (on eastbound I-80).  But there may be plans to fix that.  Add a 4th lane to eastbound I-80 from Giles/Harrison to L.  Eastbound I-80 would be reduced to 3 lanes, the collector/distributor road for eastbound I-80 would be redone to make it continuous through I-680 and the merger of the onramps from I and L Streets would make the lone C/D lane 3 lanes.

I drove through there about 11:00 PM on Friday night coming home from the Husker Basketball game.  I can assure you that it was not open at that time and there was only an hour left to make the stated target.  There were a couple trucks out on the new road working but that was it.

The Facebook official announcement made me think if this(I know that data center wont have much traffic, but just the growing investment in the area).

Is there a timeline that is out there for when 168th and 192nd will get on/off ramps for I80?

Also, who decides this? City, county, state?

Ultimately the state.

I don't think I've ever heard of discussion of an interchange at 168th. As far as I know, 192nd is still in the planning phase.

The talk of the 168th exchange was in the World Herald several years ago. I believe it was being pushed by a developer.

Is the interchange at 192nd street supposed to connect to the Platteview highway? The Platteview Road site leads me to think they want to connect to the Gretna exit, but 192nd seems like a viable alternative.

As of an October 2015 study they have 180th as the I-80 exit. They will make 180th south to Platteview Road a Major Arterial. There is nothing about 168th.

I thought they were pushing for Pflug Rd. Or was there another developer proposing one at 168th?

It appears that may be the plan way down the road. I know they've discussed doing 192nd now instead of 180th because they don't have the room to widen 180th to six lanes down the line further south due to development.

Although the other packages show it at 180th.

So who knows what the final decision will be.
