Nosh - New Wine Bar and Restaurant (10th Dodge)

New Wine Bar and Restaurant (10th Dodge)

Shawn Robinson, founder of Urban Wine Company is Opening a new Wine bar on 10th and Dodge where the Bodies exhibit was.  Construction starts Monday.  It will take up part of the empty space, but not all.

I think this will be a great location for a new wine bar and restaurant.

Perfect alternative to Ferrels and for those waiting to go to an event at the Qwest.

Awesome! Yes, great location! Further creating the needed nightlife/entertainment corridor between the OM and the so called "Events District."

URBAN WINE GUY REEMERGES AT NOSH

Nichole Aksamit, OWH wrote:Robinson said he’ll be cooking a wine-friendly, appetizer-driven menu at Nosh — think surf-and-turf cooked on hot stones, gourmet sliders, chicken and Brie nachos, salads and flat-bread pizzas — featuring fresh and locally grown ingredients when possible. He said the wine list would include about 80 wines by the glass and feature less-common varietals and wines from small boutique producers.

80 wines by the glass?  I don't see that lasting.

Nosh opens on Monday.

I went in to shoot a few pre-grand opening photos last night and it looks like a great place.  Warm and inviting, several TV's but doesn't feel like a sport bar.  There also several different seating areas with different styles of seating.  There is a large granite table in the back that I bet seats 14 or so people, a few booths, bunch of regular tables in the middle, an elevated area in the back with couches and such, and a few tall bar style tables along the front, plus the regular bar.

Observations from a recent visit...

The layout is very awkward.  Despite the overall colors, textures, and materials of the place it is somehow cold and uninviting.  The decor reminds of part between West Omaha d-bag hang out and part nice sports bar (if there's a difference).  I do not think they've utilized the space very well.  Definitely needs a major feng shui adjustment.

Yes, the wine list is good, however, that is to be expected.  What I didn't expect was to be served very old oxidized wine.  So much for the aforementioned fancy preservation system.  Employees/management did not seem to know much about wine.

Disappointing.

Hmmmm.  Could just be an oxidized style wine.  What's the name.  And by the way, Nosh has a few pretty passionate beverage people on staff.  I'm surprised that no one could help you.

No.  My own passion revealed otherwise.

This list is a waste of time if you're a wine connoisseur.  It's based entirely upon dining reviews from Open Table.  Still, nice expose for Omaha I guess.

I went a few months ago and loved it. HUGE selection of wines and spirits, not terribly priced. I would love to go back sometime.

Love their food and drinks! I had some kind of pear martini there and it was delicious.

I would say they are still open. Last post on their Facebook page was only 22 hours ago. Ladies night!!
They do have private parties from time to time that are not open to the public.

Nosh is a great bar if you are downtown. A little more "adult" than the party at DJ's Dugout.
Food is good as well.
