I heard from a very reliable source that Parliament Pub is moving out of Midtown Crossings to a location in the downtown area

I have heard this as well.  Location I heard was "next to Roja", but not entirely sure what that means.

Maybe the empty building between Roja and blue?

Possibly (unless you know something and are being coy?).

Assuming we're talking about the same building, it has been listed on LoopNet for a long time for $2.5 million.  I don't remember there ever being anything in it, although it says it was rehabbed in the 80s.

Wish I knew. I just walked by it the other day and thought it was a great location for a Bar/restaurant.... It is the only place I can think of next to Roja..

I think you're wrong which building. The spot is literally next to Roja (as in attached, adjacent to). Roja doesnt' take up the whole space.

I overheard people talking from my balcony. (MC Employees) They were talking how Parliament was moving next to Roja and that they are pretty sure Parliament is going to be turned into a sports bar..

I walked past Roja last weekend. There is definitely construction
going on to the east.

I was talking to a few of the midtown "in the know" folks, they stated:

Parliament Pub will be leaving at the first of the year

A Sports Bar is more than likely going to be in its place

A new Nail Salon will be Opening

The Owners of Hiro will open up a restaurant (no Sushi, just Chinese cuisine )

The are a couple possible "letters of intent" for a couple small Boutique Businesses

More boutiques, please! Enough bars and restaurants (for now)!

I can confirm the Hiro rumor.  I know one of the owners and was told about this several months ago.  Felt I couldn't spill the beans, but now that its out there, I can confirm.  It will be will be fast casual - aiming for the lunch crowd and family night out type dinners, not quite as upscale or trendy as either of the Hiro branded locations...  They just didn't think they could turn out quality sushi quick enough or at the price point that they're trying to hit with this concept.

At least there won't be a net gain of Parliament Pub's in the Omaha area, because that's the last thing this city needs.  :D

Midtown Crossing wrote:FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
December 28, 2011

Parliament Pub Moving to New Location

Omaha, Neb. – Look for Midtown Crossing to bring an exciting new

tenant to one of the development's prime locations in 2012. This, as

Parliament Pub relocates to Omaha's Old Market, a move intended to

capitalize on the district's active bar scene.

"I really think one of the main benefits of this move is that the Old

Market is a real draw for people looking to go out to bars," said Tom

Allisma who co-owns the establishment with Dave Jensen.

An English themed pub with a rock-n-roll edge, Parliament Pub is

expected to open its Old Market location (1212 Harney St.) in the spring of

2012.

"We've had a great time at Midtown Crossing, but the Old Market

location will be a better fit with what we’re trying to do," said Jensen.

"Our new location will be an open air atmosphere, and we'll be able to have

live bands and entertainment weekly. We're incorporating a stage, DJ booth

and dance floor into the new space."

Parliament Pub will remain open in Midtown Crossing until January 1,

2012.  Its west Omaha location is unaffected.

"We enjoyed having Parliament Pub in the mix here at Midtown

Crossing, and certainly we wish Dave and Tom all the best in their new

location," said Molly Skold, marketing director for East Campus Realty, the

Mutual of Omaha subsidiary that owns Midtown Crossing.

Stopped in last night just for a quick beer before dinner.

Plus:

Great atmosphere
Never ever ever will you have to look for parking!! :)
Live music.
Service was good, people were friendly.

Minus: (only one!)
It's kinda small

I think it is a much better fit downtown, than midtown.
And how cool is a bar IN a parking building.
Think CWS beer garden one floor up, inside yet outside.

I was listening to the scanner on my phone and the cops were called out at least once for someone assaulting another with a beer bottle.

Downtown bar gets 10-day liquor license suspension
Micah Mertes: World-Herald staff writer wrote:According to the Commission, Parliament Pub failed to pay its $91.63 fine and respond to the citation on time. As a result, the Commission suspended the bar's liquor license from Feb. 24 to March 5.

Fire was in the kitchen at Roja next door. Parliament Pub opened back up to close out the night and Roja is expected to reopen after cleanup today. Sprinkler system kept it from getting much worse.

Per radio news reports this AM.

As long as nobody got hurt, Parliament Pub burning down would have been some welcome news.
