According to Grow Omaha, The Hiro 88 People are opening a new Eclectic/Italian restaurant on 129th and maple, just a few door down from the Hiro that is already out there.

That's crazy. I didn't go there much because of its west maple location, but I thought it was a busy place?

The owner's obstructing government operations charge that he was acquitted of wouldn't have been cheap to defend. OWH article stated that sales were down during the legal battle as well.

Another restaurant opened/closed before I had a chance to give it a try. The place seemed to be open about as long as Pig & Finch. Unfortunate...

Don't think you missed much other than acute hearing loss. Food was Pig and Finched. Not bad, just pricey for what you got and the room was so loud that our server had to yell into my wife's ear to clarify her order.

Is Lombardo's Bistro & Bar still open around the corner from Bruno's?

Yes, Lombardos is still open. If you haven’t tried it, you should. It is really good!

Yes. Closed Sunday. Word is that Charlie is more than difficult to work for, they couldn't keep a chef.

Someone dumped the last hand full of posts in this thread. My question is what do they have to do with salt 88. If there is a connection I don't get it unless it is this Charlie Yin owns all these places. In that case the guy must be loaded. :what:

The Yin family has been in the restaurant business for 40 years or so in Omaha when Danny Yin brought the Imperial Palace to town. Charlie is his son, and Minton Yin's nephew. Milton owned Salt 88. Charlie is a lurker on this site. When we became Facebook friends at Local he saw my cowboy hat pic and said "You are Coyote"

This address must be where poorly thought out restaurant concepts go to die.
