Sounds great.  I hope it all pans out.  Is this a local operation, does anyone know?

Please tell me your going to keep the awesome windows you uncovered on the second level.
They are way too cool.

The windows stay, but the window graphics will be incorporated elsewhere in the building project.  The whole facade will be brought back to its historic look.

We'll let the developers spill those beans when the time comes...

This is exciting news.  I thought the foundation was great when the music wasn't turned up too loud.  I loved there beer selection, does anyone know if they will be keeping all those tap handles?

The selection won't be identical, but expect the number of taps to remain the same.  More of a focus on imports, particularly Belgian and German, a reasonable wine list, and some specialty cocktails.

We'll also be remodeling the bar itself, as well as the bathrooms.  Expect a LOT more seating upstairs, as well.

How many taps did that place have anyways?  20 or so?

I remember that pic.  It will be nice to have it open again.  After another bad night at the tap house last night, it will be cool to have this place as an option.

TIF request in the agenda for this property.  Says commercial on the bottom, which we know, and residential above.

http://www.omaha.com/article/20130304/M ... y-surprise
Construction workers got a surprise when they pulled down an old false facade from the building at 1407 Harney St. and found an ant, a rat, a bed bug, a moth and a cockroach -- all larger than life.

Pictures of the pests were painted on old windows, from when the building was apparently home to Levenson Chemical Exterminating. Levenson's has since moved, but the signs remain behind.
I also got a kick out of the last paragraph.

The adjoining 1405 Harney building has also been gutted.  Anyone know if this is part of the 1407 project, or is this a separate development effort?

Rumor has it 2nd Chance Antiques has signed a lease for the 1403 space, and the 2nd floor of the building will now be separate office space.

I'm liking those wood floors. And I'm told this place is named after a couple Victorian-era hookers?

This place turned out amazing.. It's pretty awesome seeing Omaha opening these high end bars using existing historic buildings for that extra classy feel. Definitely excited to try out these places when I move back at the end of the month.
