A lot of those breakfast/lunch places (Jimmy's Egg, Egg And I, LePeep) are doing a great business! They typically put IHOP and the ilk to shame!

We usually go to First Watch when we're in KC. Not a bad spot at all, and definitely puts IHOP, etc to shame. But, it's still just breakfast. meh.

Breakfast is my favorite meal! But it also isn't rocket science.

Nice place, but almost just another Breakfast place. They must have been training ALL their servers when I was in, I couldn't keep track of how many I saw. Manager from Kansas City was there. I asked him what makes them different and he said their service. I asked my waitress about the Parma Hash, and she had to look at my menu, and just read to me what I had already read. At least I had my own pitcher of water. Manager said they were looking at opening two more stores in town.

Parma Hash (Two eggs any style atop a hash of fresh, seasoned potatoes, Italian sausage, house-roasted Crimini mushrooms, onions and tomatoes with melted Parmesan, mozzarella and fresh herbs) were ok, but a smaller order than I get at other places.

Between The Egg and I, Jimmy's Egg and now this place I can't keep any of them straight in my head. I will say that the one over on 80th and Dodge Street has wonderful sweet potato pancakes.

Went to First Watch today and it was ok. Nothing at all to get excited about. Just another run of the mill breakfast chains.

I got the Acapulco Express Omelet. One of the main reasons I got it was because it had Avocado in it. It literally had three tiny pieces of avocado in it. I bet they can make 30 omelets out of one avocado... It also had chorizo sausage in it. I could only taste the chorizo in about half the bites I took. I will not be rushing back for this item. It also came with an English muffin and also fresh potatoes.

My wife had a Pancake Bacon and Eggs.

This is great news. So glad the location on west Maple will now be a First Watch.

The article states "Construction already has begun on the Egg & I near 168th Street and West Center Road, and it will reopen as First Watch in September.".

This reads to me the 168th location is now closed and will "reopen in September". That is not true, the 168th location is open for business.

Very poorly worded article, OWH.
