Ragazzi's Maple

Post by Greg S »

They were talking about it on 1620, it's this weeks zone deal.  They mentioned there's going to be 2nd location on 156th and Maple.  Anyone know if they are going to build where Hollywood Diner used to be or go in where Pizza Gourmet was?

Uffda and I had lunch here today. I had the Ragazzi's Traditional Pizza which was good but very heavy on the roasted garlic, so I will have to hold off judgment until I try another pizza. This location opened about a month ago, the one in Ralston sometime last year. Met the owner, nice guy, who used to have one of the Old Chicagos. They had Empyrean Dark Side Vanilla Porter, a Lucky Bucket and just a few other local beers.

You will have to ask Uffda, I can't remember, but he knows him.

I have eaten at this new location on one occasion, and it was pretty good. The Ralston location is closer to my flight patterns, and I have eaten there about 5 times. Always good. The pizza crust is unique, and rather addictive in my opinion.

Brad, I don't know his name but met him at the downtown Old Chicago when they do the Easter dinner for the homeless/needy. I was told he was the Old Chicago regional rep and helped start the dinner.

There appears to be a new Ragazzi's coming to the NW corner of 168'th and Center. "Coming soon" sign says September if I read it correctly driving by.

The location is where the (now closed) Harvest Cafe was.

The original location in Ralston is closing. Sounds like they could not negotiate a new lease. They did indicate they will try to find a new location in the area.

Oh no. We like Ragazzi's in Ralston. I hope they follow through on relocating this location to somewhere south of L or even Sarpy County.

The owner just added the title Director of Operations for Old Chicago Pizza. Makes you wonder what’s up with Ragazzi’s.

Well that’s is where I first met him at the downtown Old Chicago - I think he was manager of that one or director of a couple of them.

What was the story you told me about him? Some outreach you helped with...

He was the one who organized the free dinner on Easter for homeless and others at the downtown Old Chicago. It kept going for a couple of years after he left but I haven’t worked it for a 2-3 yrs and I am not even sure it is still going.

Ragazzi's at 168th & Center closed. Not surprised. Ate there twice, both on Friday evenings, and the place was empty both times. They did a fair business when they were off of 72nd & Q, but their clientele didn't follow them to 168th & Center.

I can't speak to the 168th Street location, but the two times I ate from the 156th St. location, the food was awful.

It was awful at the original location. No idea how they lasted this long.
