After Pacific Life moves in later this year, I may have to give it a try, but $18 for just 2 tacos, rice, beans and a beer is a little steep. Especially if the food isn't excellent.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Could I get much better tacos at a truck for 1/4th of that?

I'm looking forward to my upcoming return trip to old Mexico. The tacos end up costing about a dollar each (and not much more for quesadillas or tortas) and the flavor can't be beat.

Looking at the prices on the menu Coyote posted, I don't feel the prices are out of line with lots of other places - although I usually just get a couple of tacos and a beer.

I do the same 2 Tacos is more than enough since they are big. Also my favorite the Mahi Mahi uses seafood so I don't mind the price.

Voodoo Taco is getting a lot of good press on this:

CNN: A cannon that shoots tacos? Why not?

It will make its debut at the May 2 Stinson Park Concert:

Judging by their reaction, the internet seems to think otherwise.

I don't think it really matters who came up with it at this point. VooDoo and UNO had a big "win" this week...

NO arguing that. They have gotten more coverage than I bet they ever thought. Saw it on CNN's web page too.

PTI and Around the Horn. And every one mentioned UNO's new arena!

They ever were the #1 Trending Topic on Twitter above Earth Day!

That will add a nice mix to the workday lunch lineup. Great area to work in with Cunningham's, Green Belly, Feta's. and all the sandwich shops too.

The are looking at Lincoln next, as well as NoCal and AZ, hoping to have 50 stores in 5 years.

BTW, the Miracle Hills location will open at 7:00 am for breakfast and serve beignets.

This reminds me of the meteoric rise of the WC Franks chain. I hope Voodoo Tacos doesn't meet with the same fate.

I just do not understand this restaurant. I want to like it. I don't get how it is expanding so quickly. The food is just okay to me and the one on 90th never seems that busy at least during the lunch hour. Maybe the dinner crowd gets really packed?

I have not been but the one thing I've heard (and have heard it from 3 sources) is that you do not get a lot of food for the money. They all in varying degrees liked it but all three independently mentioned how small the portions were for the price.

Basically that is their MO...' Gourmet'/Specialty Tacos at a higher price ($4.00) than your average Taco joint.

They did a food truck out by where I work (1st National Bank Office Park at 140th and Dodge) and people were complaining they had to spend $12-13 to get filled up at lunch. Everyone is use to paying about $8 at the food trucks here (Chicago Dawg and La Casa have great ones).
