According to a job listing on Craigslist, "Pig & Finch will be opening the 2nd week of March."

Kind of like a Mooby's from the Jay & Silent Bob movies?

I guess there will not be a huge Ruby Tuesday style sign here.

They are repainting the outside of the building. Right now it is a charming grey concrete color. I hope that is a base color.

Apparently it is now open. It has been reviewed already on Urbanspoon.
Looking at the menu I must say that the prices seem very high by Omaha standards. A burger and fries for $15? Come on!

New restaurant open in One Pacific Place
Sarah Baker Hansen: World-Herald staff writer wrote:The restaurant is focused on seasonal, farm-to-table style food with French, English and American influences. Craft cocktails and wine are also on the menu.

Was there yesterday with my wife. Started with fried pickles (coins no spears :)), I had the burger. She had roasted cauliflower soup and Brussels sprouts hash. For dessert, we had rhubarb and strawberry crumble. This was delicious, but is definitely sharing size. The have a nice selection of beers and they have Maegner's hard apple cider (Irish).

We will be going back.

Overpriced for what you got, IMO.

Ruby Tuesday was there well over a decade, may be pushing 20 years? I think it was just a tired concept.

I didn't go to Pig N Finch often, but I enjoyed it when I did. That said, seems like most people though it was over priced. I thought the prices were fair for what I got.

Second that. My food was never bad, but nor was it ever "wow!". It was pricey. When Twisted Fork, Shucks, and Brother Sebastian's are up the street, you have to solid and competitive.

Agree. I live close by, but we ate there less than once a year. It was okay, but a bit pricy for what you got.

Not a rumor yet, but people are suggesting Salty Dog give this place a shot (or 7M Grill's spot).

I would love it if they put a sports bar with a lot of beer on tap and great food in the Pig and Finch spot and Salty Dog would fit the bill, but the rent is insane and I don't know if you could make a go of it at sports bar price points.

The landlord thinks that location is a lot better than it is, IMO.

We have Tanner's, and DJ's in close vicinity. Not sure a sports bar would work. A good solid cafe might. Cocktail lounge is covered, but this kind of coming home at 6 from a day from.heck office day stop in for solid non burger dinner might.

801 Group is turning this into an 801 Grill, new concept for them. A casual take on the 801 Chophouse. Facebook page is up. Mid to late March is what I'm being led to believe.

Had dinner at the 801 Grill over the weekend. Just like all the 801 restaurants, it was good. Just like they said, a small more causal version of the chop house.

It was cool, the dining room is full of old Omaha restaurant photos.

I looked at the menu and it was pretty similar to the overpriced one P & F had. No idea why they think this concept will be successful when obviously the first wasn't.

Given the bulk of that sort of restaurant in the area, even being that close to Regency, I doubt it lasts.

I just don't get what the draw could possibly be. If I'm going to spend $30-$40 on dinner, it's not going to be on a burger and blue cheese potato chips in a strip mall. If I do want a burger, I can go elsewhere and get a better one for half the price. If I want a steak, well, this place isn't even crossing my mind. :?

Yep.

We were just at Shucks on Sunday. I can drive a mile west and get great food for less.
We had their special. Grilled fresh caught salmon with Buerre Blanc sauce, roasted potatoes, and asparagus. $18 per person. We had two meals for what it sounds like you spend on a burger there.

Interesting.
Grow Omaha wrote:Possible change at One Pacific Place? The space currently occupied by 801 Grill at 10387 Pacific Street is being marketed as a “turnkey restaurant space for sublease.” 801 Grill is part of Iowa-based 801 Restaurant Group, which operates four restaurant brands in seven Midwestern Cities. The company’s prime steakhouse concept, 801 Chop House, has a location in downtown Omaha.
