Added Beer Code Co. to the list in Lincoln.
Moved Spilker Ales (Cortland - 1996) and noted its change.

Green Flash Pulls Distribution From 33 States, Eliminates 15 Percent of Workforce
Part of Green Flash’s long-term strategy includes placing small brewpubs in “earlier-stage markets,” starting with in Lincoln, Nebraska. In August, Green Flash acquired the former Ploughshare Brewing Company location as well as an extra 10,000 barrels of capacity. That space is slated to open in the first quarter of 2018

If I counted right, we now have 44 breweries (including a couple that are about to open). That doesn't not include Jukes (which hasn't started building yet), Granite City (because the beer is only fermented here), or any multiple locations/tasting rooms that breweries have. Its a great time to live in Nebraska!

Schmick signed a lease this week for a space at Seventh and Q streets, on the north end of Lincoln Station.

Schmick, whose family also owns Schmick's Markets in Broken Bow, McCook and Lincoln, said he hopes to have a Kinkaider taproom open by sometime in June.

Saturday, April 14th at our South location 12-7pm!

Join us for our special release party of the Metz Jubilee Beer. We are proud to re-introduce the iconic Metz brand to Omaha. Metz was brewed in Omaha from 1864-1962 and now Metz Jubilee is again available in the Omaha area. Brewed in Omaha at Infusion Brewing Co, this true German style lager pays homage to the Metz family heritage. Every batch is lagered for 4 weeks before filtering and packaging to ensure a clean, crisp lager taste with a smooth finish.

Thunderhead Brewery announces three more canned beers following expansion
Last year, we brewed 2,100 barrels or roughly 4,200 kegs of beer worth and the new facility, because of the way we're streamlining the production process, we'll be able to produce 10 times that amount," said Schaben.

Omaha’s barley boys launch malthouse to supply local breweries

Stopped by Infusion in Benson yesterday to try the new take on Metz Beer. My wife and I really liked this lager a lot. Now keep in mind I am not a craft beer expert. Quite the opposite actually. But I liked this Metz thing. Really smooth. And since a little hops goes a long way for me, the absence of this trait was a plus in my book. Nice lingering finish too. It is a tip of the hat to the old style, mainstream lagers of yesteryear but with more flavor albeit not hops. We ended walking out the door with a case of bottles. We'll be serving it at a party in a couple weeks. It will be interesting to see how it is received.
My son got a 27 on his ACT. No this score is not as high as what Jeff's son achieved. But one has to remember the paternal gene-pool my son has to overcome. On a PGPAB [Paternal Gene-Pool Adjusted Basis], my son's score is a 37 and Jeff's son's PGPAB ACT score is 19.

Disclaimer: I am not a big Lager or Hellas fan, so I am not the right person to critique Infusion's remake of Metz beer. Growing up I did have a Metz Barrel coin bank. So I had to get a single at Hy-Vee today. I have to admit that this is one of the finest Lagers I have had in years. It brought back memories. If I had few craft beer options this would be a good go to beer!

This is a fascinating story. Omaha was a huge beer brewing town in decades past. Many midwestern cities had large brewery operations. Gradually the industry began consolidating, resulting in the shuttering of most of these regional brewery operations. Only with the advent of craft brewing in the 1990s did we begin to see more breweries opening than closing. The beer scene today more closely resembles the scene from 100 years ago than where we were in 1980 or 1990.

Having had Metz both ways now, I think I like it better in the growler than bottled six packs.

Zac mentioned they are almost at a point they need to expand. I wonder what he is thinking.
We might hear from him again, he brought them samples

Wasn’t sure where to put this. I was going to go tonGranite City tonight for dinner and when I pulled up the parking lot was empty and it was closed.

Ended up elsewhere and the bartender said they had heard the GM was let go and they have closed until ......
