I added a couple dates to your List.  Upstream Legacy was 2003, Nebraska Brewing Company was 2007.

How is your list sorted?  Open, Under Construction, Announced, outside Omaha?

Why are Krug Park and Lot 2 on your list?

I intended it to be sorted first by location , then open date/opening date/announced...
I recall reading Lot 2 was intending their own small brew batch in their basement,
so I included MicroBrews/Craft Breweries, and home/business brews...

Is Krug Park also doing their own beer?  I haven't seen it when I have been there.

I would guess he will be brewing the beer for the lot of them once Scriptown opens though.

This thread could get confusing, but Storz is actually being brewed out of Blue Blood in Lincoln right now.  I have no idea if that will change when the riverfront location opens though.

I tried to find what I thought was an article about Benson Beers, but can't find anything on Krug Park brewing their own, so they are removed, until I can find that article...

And I don't know when Lot 2 will be in house yet...

Check the Scriptown thread.  It doesn't say if they are brewed in house right now or not though, just that the current brewer(who has been named national home brewer of the year) cannot keep up with production.

What about that 313 or 303 or whatever brewery that was supposed to be in North Downtown? Is that dead?

318 North End is the name of the whole development.  Omaha Brewery name of the brewery supposed to go into it, not a lot of progress lately it seems though.

That's what I said in another thread a few days ago about Soaring Wings...
And No - Moonstruck is still a Meadery, but I included it as such...
Read an article by Beer Advocate (thanks Brad) that says Jaipur was Omaha's first BrewPub that opened in 1992?

Soaring Wings explores beer after a decade of winemaking

Soaring Wings Brewing Growler

We now carry Soaring Wings Growlers so you can take your favorite beer home!  They are $6.00 each plus tax.  You purchase the growler and chose which beer refill you'd like in the growler!  Once your growler is empty, just bring it back in and have it filled again... the growler is yours to keep!

Current Tap List:

Pegasus
ABV 4.5   IBU 8
Light and refreshing but full flavored German Helles style Lager

Low Level Lager
ABV 5.47   IBU 8
Light, American style lager

Raspberry Wheat
ABV 4 IBU 11
A crisp German wheat with a hint of raspberry. A refreshing Summer favorite!

White Stripe Wit
ABV 4.9   IBU 14
Belgian style white beer, infused with coriander and orange peel.

Jack's Nut Brown
ABV 3.9   IBU 13
A summer style nut brown - light bodied and refreshing. Tried and tested gluten free!

Aviator English Ale
ABV 4.5   IBU 11
English session beer with low hop bitterness - think Boddingtons or Tetley's

Hop Zeppelin Double IPA
ABV 8  IBU 67 or greater
Double Hop IPA.  Double the alcohol and double the hops for all you "hop" lovers!

Blackbird
ABV 6.2   IBU 25
Creamy Dark Stout with coffee overtones.

Past and Seasonal Beers:

Sleigh'er Scotch Ale
This holiday beer is full of vanilla, cinnamon, and cherry notes-the Gingerbread man's drink of choice

Afterburner Red Ale
A uniquely hoppy red ale.

Hammerhead ESB
Like a mild English IPA

Bombadier Brown Ale
A nut brown ale with coffee/espresso/chocolate overtones with a distinctive crisp rye flavor

Sun Spell Ale
Belgian Patersbier. A session style Belgian ale that refreshes on a hot summer day!

A little trivia:

Spilker Ales' Hopluia, introduced in 16oz. cans in January 2005, is the first canned Nebraska beer since Falstaff closed in 1984. Some of the old tap handles still list the beer as Hopalleuia

Driving through Nebraska Yesterday, I heard an add for a Winery/brewery in Lexington, NE.  Anyone heard of that?

Also, unless someone proves otherwise, I am removing Murphy's Wagon Wheel from the list, when I was there they didn't have a brewery and I haven't found anything to prove otherwise.  Everything I have seen including my visit, they are just a bar.

Thanks for putting the list together.  I have been throwing the idea around of doing a metro'ish brewery bus tour.

Heading to Keg Creek on Saturday night.  I sampled four of their beers at the Loess Hills Wine Festival and they were all great.

A newer brewery to add to the list, Brick Street Brewing in Woodbine:

Brick Street Brewing flows in Woodbine, creating buzz across the region
. . . And almost four years to the day after they started working on their first batch of beer, the couple created their own brewery and tasting room in downtown Woodbine. The Eilers’ Brick Street Brewing Company opened the last weekend of September, just in time for the annual Applefest, and has been growing ever since. . . .

I found a beer I don't like without ever even trying it...

Old barn moving into new brewery!
Micah Mertes / World-Herald staff writer wrote:A Lincoln brewery's giving an old barn new life.

Ploughshare Brewing Co. spent last month razing a 130-year-old barn outside southeast Lincoln. Professional carpenters and volunteers brought it down piece by piece, and now Ploughshare hopes to use the lumber for its taproom interior.
If they wanted to give an old barn new life, they should have built the tap room in the damn barn.

Re: Local Breweries

Just had a nice talk with the Spirits Manager at the Stony Brook Hy-Vee. I was told by a local beer distributer that he has the best selection of beers in town and even rivals Beertopia right now. KJ Harnach has his Brewers Assistance license and has been an apprentice at Boulder Brewery for a while. He told me that all Hy-Vee's in the 6 state region will eventually have a full restaurant attached (the one in Plattsmouth already does, and the Applewood one is building theirs now), but the Stony Brook Hy-Vee will have taps, he said between 4 to 10, and that the beer will be cutting edge, I think maybe some he is brewing out of Boulder, but he was very excited about this. They will start construction in February and be finished by April, the Italian and Chinese food court will still be there (NE corner) but they will shut down at 4:30 and by 5:00 have the tables set with linen and all.
