Also, Bull Market Beer and Grill in Valentine, is that the closest thing to visiting Bolo? I didn't even see a sign for Bolo when I was there, just kind of looked like it was in the back of Bull Market and the bartender at Bull Market called them "Our Beers".
Only thing I know about Bolo is that the time I saw it on tap in Omaha, the keg had just kicked so I couldn't try it. The LCC lists the same address for them and Bull Market, so I'd guess they at least share an address. If that's the case, I wonder if the beer to go through a distributor to get from the brewery in the back of the building to the bar in the front of the building. Probably so.

Pint Nine Brewing and Kros Strain Brewing both had tanks delivered this week. You can see photos on their Facebook pages. It looks like they also have a lot of framing and drywall up.

Vis Major Brewing has done a lot of exterior work on their building. You can also see a couple photos on their Facebook page.

And from what I've tasted from Nebraska brewery's overall, the quality is definitely there..as indicated by this tremendous growth :thumb: ...

LCC end of Dec revenue report says approximately 46 million gallons of beer in both 2015 and 2016. So Nebraska brewed beer was approx 2.1% in 2015 and 2.7% in 2016.

That would be their "Royal Oil". I love the name, and it is incredibly fitting given the building's previous life as a mechanic's garage. Unfortunately, with Untappd showing use of that name by another brewery previously, I'd be surprised if they can keep it when they go into production.

Although I've not tried it, a buddy indicates that the beer is stellar.

Kros Strain and Pint Nine had an open house over the weekend as part of the Pint-a-gon bike ride between a few other breweries in the area. I totally forgot to take any pictures, but they are coming along nicely. It sounds like they can both start brewing beer next month, but both still have more construction to be done in the taproom areas and more equipment setup.

Finally made it to Bottle Rocket Brewing in Seward. The owner was there and showed me around a bit, very nice guy. Cool old building built in the first have of the 19th century for a grain company. Bottle rocket has recently finished an large party room addition on the back and continues to improve the beer garden. This years 4th of July party will be even bigger than last years. The main floor of the original building has some columns in the middle which if you go up close, are actually old grain chutes! Really cool to see. They also have the Nebraska state record Elk hanging in the tap room too.

I tried 4 beers and they were all nice. Hope to get back some time soon and try the rest.

Kros Strain and Pint Nine have started brewing beer. Their Facebook pages both say that they should be open in a few weeks! Kros Strain Brewing also has a huge new mural inside their taproom that looks amazing. I don't even know how to describe the art, but it is really unique. Vis Major has done some exterior artwork that looks really cool as well. No Facebook updates on when they can start brewing in their new brewery.

Word is that Jukes has to basically start over with thier building because it lacked proper footings. Hard to support heavy tanks of liquids without those. No word on new eta.

And if you read today's w-h article about beer at the cws, they've now corrected it with some prodding. Nebraska doesn't allow self distribution, now matter how much we'd like it.

Good to see Bootlegger getting some pub. Really cool place that the guys at Scratchtown told me about, now its in the OWH:

The Good Life: Ranching couple’s Bootleg Brewers, tucked in the Sand Hills, takes off

http://www.omaha.com/news/nebraska/the- ... 0ae9d.html
By Paul Hammel / World-Herald columnist wrote:TAYLOR, Neb. — A few miles beyond the middle of nowhere, down a winding and washboarded sand road, past the “Dead End Ranch” sign riddled with bullet holes and over two cattle guards, Ron and Dodie Worm have established their latest endeavor to stay in the Sand Hills.

Three miles off the nearest highway sits Bootleg Brewers, a huge steakhouse, brewery and cabin complex tucked amid the hills and clustered around a lake and a 40-acre beer garden.

I was there last year. It was interesting. Cool party place, but not very convenient to get to (or find). There's a stage with live music and a pretty sizable brewery. We were told you could only get their beers at the brewery, which I thought was disappointing.

We did ask the owners about the lack of signage on the highway and were told they are not allowed to put signage on the highway because it's a protected road way. Using GPS we were able to find it, but without the GPS it would have been a struggle. If you're going there, slow down when you think you're getting close to the turnoff from the highway.

Also this place is not at all local. It is several hours from Omaha.

Since we're talking about regional beers (was Keg Creek mentioned?) then you all should stop by Kinkaider's taproom. It's great! It's not too far from Bootleg Brewers.

This thread has always covered all of nebraska and western Iowa.

I did not make it to Kinkaider. After Scratchtown and then Bootlegger, then a stop for a sunset photo, I got in to Broken Bow too late. The directions I was given was head north out of Taylor and look for the windmill on the left, turn there. I did and found it with no problem. I love the sandhills and a brewery out in the middle of nowhere in the sandhills is fine by me. I cruise up and down roads like that all day long on my sandillls photo trip.

Yes, Keg Creek has been mentioned several times. I sill need to get over to their new location.

Solid beers, but I was most impressed with the Fairy Nectar Project I DIPA, even got a crowler of it to (the one in Coyotes photos). Its not quite on the level of some of the completely awesome "Funky Hazy Thick Juicy DIPA" that Boiler Brewing has, but its the closest thing I have had from an Omaha brewery. (Not that I have had every beer from every brewery in Omaha, so apologies if someone makes something similar). Nice place, definately going to be in my Omaha brewery rotation.

Nebraska has so many great breweries these days, it would be super easy for someone to only drink beer brewed in Nebraska and be totally satisfied! I might try it for a month.

Now selling at your local Hy-Vee, Kros Strain: Helles Creek.
Helles or He11 is a traditional German pale lager beer, produced chiefly in Southern Germany, particularly Munich.

Coyote Trivia:
What Omaha Creek originates around Boystown
and merges with the Papillion Creek near 108th & Giles, just north of Kros Strain?

I was in Costco this weekend and noticed they had cases of Brickway selling for around $25.

There were I think 3 flavors in the 12 pack, but I can only remember two of them. The PILS and Coffee Stout.

The 16.9 size is actually because of the metric conversion. 16.9oz=500ml, or half liter. Traditional German breweries have been selling this particular size for years.
