Taffer is in town making magic happen down in Bellevue at O'Banions Bar and Grill.

It appears the stress test happened on Monday night so I missed a chance to see Jon SHUT IT DOWN!!

All I know is that this place will 1) Have a new name at the end of the day 2) Probably be very air force themed 3) You can bet someone just got their |expletive| fired for either stealing, undercooking a chicken tender, or mouthing off to Taffer.

Can't wait to see this episode.

After I saw this story 2 days ago I never would have guessed I would be hearing about them being in the area anytime soon. But good to hear! Great show.

Very cool. The show plays things up for the camera, but Taffer does some really cool things that could differentiate a bar in this market. He's made boring strip mall bars somewhat cool. Unless there are contractual strings attached, I can't imagine why a struggling bar would turn this show down. They seem to target establishments that are within a month or two of closing.

Anybody ever been to O'Banion's before? I've never even heard of it. Can't wait to see this episode.

I went to the reveal on friday. There were hundreds of people watching from the parking lot. It took them about 1.5 hours just to film the reveal from outside as they had to change the camera angles often. The reveal itself is true, they brought all employees in a van blind folded and made them stand outside blindfolded just before. I didn't stay to go inside as it was going to be after 11PM and I had other things to do.

I stayed up until midnight last night watching Bar Rescue. Awesome show, and I'm sure O'Banions will be far better off after John's overhaul. As CP said, it will definitely be Air Forced themed.

Spike TV's 'Bar Rescue' crew to film at another Omaha bar tonight

Jeff Luby, co-owner of Wilson & Washburn, 1407 Harney St., has confirmed that the show will be filming at his restaurant at 7:30 p.m. tonight. The bar has been selected as an example of what bars should do.

With DDD they filmed 6 while they were here and then aired one here and one there. saves on travel and shipping.

Just tonight at W&W, they had all kinds of equipment for literally a 10 second shot...

I worked at Baker's Deerfield when About Schmidt was filmed. They were there for 2 full days and a partial day for filming and I think the grocery store footage they ended up using was like 30 seconds, if that. But I believe they filmed a scene which wasn't used where Nicholson shoplifted, so that took more time. I'm pretty sure they filmed the exterior shots at night and did some lighting trick to where it looked daytime on film. It was a PITA trying to get any work done since it was chaos, but the whole process was interesting.

I've been there before, and besides the loud-ish music and fact that it is a 'dive' bar, it wasn't bad. Â Not dirty, not damaged...just not a fancy bar. Â The bartenders/owner were nice, priced right, and everyone inside got along. Â I'd agree in assuming it was all staged for TV. Â And yes...the mason jars of some of the coldest beer I've ever had were a plus.
