I walked by here yesterday. There was a banner over entrance and I think the name was Parian. At least some combination of most of those letters.
My son got a 27 on his ACT. No this score is not as high as what Jeff's son achieved. But one has to remember the paternal gene-pool my son has to overcome. On a PGPAB [Paternal Gene-Pool Adjusted Basis], my son's score is a 37 and Jeff's son's PGPAB ACT score is 19.

So is this going to be an actual restaurant or a trainwreck where people occasional use a hotplate to heat snacks?

Yeah, I remember that sign too, when I walked by about 8 years ago.

Non of the links worked when I looked at it earlier, no menu or nothing.

Most interesting part to me was the 11pm closing time.

The links work, they just change the bottom of the page, so you have to scroll down. I like the words "family friendly", which I hope translates into "thug un-friendly"

All of the pictures on the site are just stock photos of food as well.

I'll set the over/under on the first shooting tied to this place at 3 months after opening and I'll take the under.

BTW, upper floors still proudly display the word "Diamonds"... Who owns this god forsaken property anyway?

So what's with all the negativity? Not one person is going to give this place a chance? What do you want to see in this spot? What's going to succeed? Why will people get shot at this Mexican restaurant when they don't get shot at Roja, Michael's, and Trini's? Why do people still think this is going to be a club?

Don't know how I missed this...

New Restaurant To Replace Maria Sangria, Neighbors Have Worries
Henery was talking specifically about the council's 4-2 vote in favor of Lieb. His concern now is about Lieb's recent history as owner of Aruma Lounge. During that time, the lounge was marred by fights between customers and a dispute with police officers, according to public records.

It's been what, a half a dozen bars now? Outside of probably having commercial kitchen appliances inside it doesn't seem like the greatest spot for one. It could be converted into retail and serve a better purpose I bet.

Do we have any indication on how much of this place will be dedicated to being an actual restaurant? More than 15%, unlike the last incarnation?

Were going to have to bust out the nested parentheses on this one, because El Parian is now Cancun. Is this place cursed to have Spanish themed failures for all eternity??

I think you mean Latin themed. Spain is nowhere near Mexico.

Yeah but the last two were 'Spanish' themed, no?

I thought they had more emphasis on being terrible 'restaurants' rather than any locale. I give this one less than a year.

I was in there once, regrettably. I believe they tried to sell themselves to those in power as a restaurant, but only about 25% of the space was for dining. It was like 3 booths and 5 tables with a kitchen window in the corner.

Had an ad in my facebook feed that Orangetheory Fitness is opening a downtown location, and lists this address as its location. Looks like the hispanic restaurant theme for this space is finally broken. According to one of their replies on a comment they are looking at an early spring opening. I couldn't find a separate thread for Orangetheory if we have one.

That’s great news!
