Wow, I haven't had or heard of any of the non-chains. Guess I haven't had enough to say who's got "the best". However, Wilson & Washburn is now serving smoked wings with homemade barbecue. Very meat and delicious.

BWWs? No way. It's all about their sauces. Hooter's probably ranks as the worst wings I've ever had.

No, I was just trying to come up with places for a poll. I agree, BWW is terrible.

I added W&W.

I got ya…it would almost be interesting to see how many would vote for those places. However, I will say Twin Peaks has the most amazing chicken strips. Probably a different poll/thread but daamn their food was surprisingly as good as the scenery. Haven't had their wings but I imagine they could easily rank above the others stated chains.

A request: Best grilled wings? Don't like Buffalo wings much and my wife hates spicy food, so they are out. Most of the other sauces have too much salt or too much sugar to be healthy when eaten in a meal sized portion. Also best NON breaded wings?

I do enjoy Oscar's the most. I also like the Wings at Varsity/Roman Coin.

As far as chains, Buffalo Wings and Rings are by far the best.

The best wings I've had were at Big John's Billiards.

I like Bdubs a lot.

I don't eat out a lot so I really don't have a large pool to pick from.

I thought Oscars (and others) fried them and then finished them on the grill.

Wing Stop is my favorite chain.

Honestly don't think I have eaten wings at local places often.

Yeah I suppose that would be more charred. Watering Hole in Lincoln definitely has grill only wings that are amazing.

Speaking of Salty Dog...

Sunday night Scuba Steve from Hit That Dive met Matt and Myself over at Salty Dog for wings. He told me he would be up for an eomaha wing get together at one of the local places with good wings, Addy's, Pheasant, Etc.

I will get a date and a place figured out soon let everyone know.

Friday morning fire causes extensive damage at Council Bluffs bar

One of the Metro areas best wings place will be closed for at least a couple weeks.

I'm addicted to Zio's buffalo wings. I would have never thought that a pizza place could have such good wings.

Oscar's is number 1 most times, but on occasion the Char Buff wings at the Shucks on 119th are better (and I have had both).

When listing wing joints, all places that serve char wings without breading are above all the breaded joints. Oscars and Shucks are the teams to beat.

Wings are, like pizza, like BBQ, like burgers, sooooo subjective! One's meat is, literally, another's poison.

No doubt. Oscar's is good but I don't know if I am in love with the Char Buff. I don't care for Buffalo Wild Wings because they are too spongy. Zio's is somewhere in between Oscar's and Wild Wings.

Tracks on 60th, former Trackside, has some really good char buff and non char buff wings. I would put them up there with Oscars especially with Oscars going down hill in the last couple years. Every time I go into Oscars now I feel like I am at Chuck E Cheese rather than a bar with all the teams and kids hanging around.

If you haven't checked tracks out since the remodel I would definitely give it a try

Tracks also has their wings 5 for 3 dollars during happy hour not a bad deal for a pretty good size wing.

Thanks for the heads up, we went to Tracks tonight and the Char Buff were great wings. Right up on par with Salty Dog and Addy's!

They were also having a Brickway Tap Takeover tonight so it was a Win Win!

Ray's Original Buffalo Wings (now located in MTC). Ray is from Buffalo, NY, and IMO, they're the best traditional "Buffalo style" wings in Omaha.

It's been five years since we've discussed this, and since I ran into Brad last night at one of my favorite wing joints I thought it would be worth revisiting.

Right now my top two are:
Addy's in Millard
Clancy's@168&Center

Special mention:
RedEye Tavern@86&Center

I like my wings char buffed & double dipped, extra crispy. Clancy's consistently delivers on the texture and their Hellfire sauce is fantastic. Addy's spicy garlic sauce is excellent and the wings are always juicy. The $.70/ea wing special on Mondays doesn't suck either.

RedEye has a good balance of tasty wings at a decent price. Could be a touch heavier on the sauce.

Our favorite wing joint too. Addy's Char Buff Double Dipped is where its at!

I couldn't tell you the last time I have been to Clancy's. Its when the location on 72nd and Pacific was still open.

Honestly, anywhere I can get them char-buffed and double-dipped is great. It's pretty hard to mess them up when you do that. Combine that with a sweet but spicy sauce and you cant go wrong. :)

The Spicy BBQ wings (char-buffed and double-dipped) at Lux American Grill are really good.

At Oscar's I have them mix the BBQ and Buffalo sauces 50/50 and then char-buff and double-dip them and those are excellent too.

The Gochujang at Ref's are tasty.

I don't have anything against the wings at BWW (some people have a bit of an irrational hate for them), but the service is so consistently poor and the kitchen speeds so slow that I just don't go there anymore. Also, they don't have any way to char-buff their wings.

I do miss the Voodoo Wings at Jazz.

And FYI, for really good wings- double dipped and buffed, add Tracks (60th south of Pacific St) to your lists…
