Brick Street Tavern

Post by RNcyanide »

The hole in the wall bar adjacent to Olympia Cycle and Millard Lumber has been/will be opening up as the Brick Street Tavern. Drove by it on my way home tonight and noticed the sign.
When fortune smiles on something as violent and ugly as revenge, it seems proof like no other that not only does God exist, you're doing his will.

I had lunch here today. It was probably my 4th time stopping in for a weekday lunch over the last 6 years or so. Food is good as bar/grill food goes. It's a bit of a dive, but not in any sort of scary way. I don't care much for the customer service. I keep having the same problem where I stop in here for a late lunch (1:15 PM or so) and I'm one of just a few customers at the time. The only employee visible at that time is also one of the owners and she's just horribly inattentive. It's happened to me a couple of times now. A year goes by, I decide to try the place again and it happens again. They must be doing something right as keeping a bar and restaurant open is no easy task and they've been plodding along for almost 9 years now. Perhaps I just have the world's worst timing. So, give this place a try during peak hours when there's non-owners working and perhaps you'll have better luck. lol It could also be that I usually sit at a table and I know from experience that many small bar/grills are just inattentive to anyone not seated at the bar. Though, like I said. The food is good.

I did find this while Googling the place. I find it a little scary that the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission would issue a liquor license to a couple of owners that between them have a combined 5 DUIs.

Perhaps the owners simply reside there now and no longer need to drive. 🤣
