I drove past last weekend and saw a dumpster out front. There was also car in the lot from Kansas, so it looks like they are doing some work inside.

I had a few days off that covered teh end of last week and the start of this week. Drove by a few times on normal weekday work hours and there were a large number of contractor pickups and vans in the front.

I'm being sincere. Why would a rep from a chicken restaurant, in today's politically correct world, give themselves a screen name of "chickenchoker"? Talk about putting forward a horrible image. Then I thought maybe the term meant something else in urban slang. I did the research and found out it means "masturbater". Good Lord, I really hope this was just a bad choice of choosing a bad screen name.

Stroud's P.A.N. Fried chicken. We have been choking our own chickens for over 80 years. It's one of our slogans that has been around for ages. We saw no need to change it. Just like we have not changed our recipes nor our commitment to quality or service. It's who we are. And yes, I AM a representative of the company.

Btw Omahacacher, we source our own chicken. It's fresh . . . as in REALLY FRESH and we have it trucked in at least twice weekly, processed by our own people exclusively for Stroud's. So. . . THAT's what we mean by choking our own chickens these days. Someone earlier called me young, THANK YOU! However I feel like the old guy these days, I've been doing this for 25 years and I love it, being a Chef that is. I'll be making Omaha my home for the next 5 weeks and I'll be the big guy hootin and hollerin to get your plates of perfectly cooked chicken on your table. Grab me and say hi when you stop in.

It's some of the best Fried Chicken in the Midwest from when I've had it, although I haven't been in a while and I heard that it kind of went a little bit downhill.

Glad you posted here and nice website. I'm frothing at the lips to try some of your chicken! I'm a chicken a holic. I like chicken at many places but Popeyes is my favorite. The video on your website says you only use salt and pepper. I will tell you ahead of time that there is going to have to be some serious magic going on in that pan to dethrone Popeyes from the top of my list especially working with just salt and pepper. I will try 2 breast and some mashed potatoes with that gnarly looking gravy you got and a side of rings and a skinny margarita. I see the 2 breasts come with 2 wings but I dont do wings. Wings are for the old ladies. 18 bucks for the breasts and 7 bucks for the skinny margarita and a few more bucks for some rings and were talking 35 bucks just for me. Thats a prettty expensive lunch for poor guys like me!

Grandpasmucker - chicken challenge accepted! We do use salt and pepper (2 of the most important spices IMO) BUT, our world-famous chicken is sooooooooo much more complicated. It's about the chicken we choose and the way in which we fry it that makes ALL the difference. BTW, we are looking for friendly, passionate people to join our team! If you know such a person, have them stop by or go online www.indeed.com

Here's a free suggestion for the Strouds people. Try to open a second location where LoLos Chicken and Waffles is, off 72nd and Ames. I think they would finally be a perfect fit for that building.
