Mimi's will be closing May 20. Somewhat surprising.

I'm really not surprised.

I was only there once. Very "ok" but nothing impressive. I was expecting more like diner food, but IIRC it impressed me as more wannabe-foodie fare.

If only they had a FoodTruck, served cupcakes, or were called "Mimi's Cafe on 10th", they'd have made it! :(

Any restaurant that refuses to post their prices, is going to be unnecessarily spendy. People will only pay for trendy and expensive if the food is really awesome.

Like others, I was there once. Food wasn't bad, but it wasn't great...and they were charging "great" prices for it. Somewhat surprised they lasted as long as they did. Plenty of other places to eat with better food, many with better prices.

The same here, I had to strain to remember I was there once, when it first opened, hardly made an impression on me...
But I hope it gets replaced by something better than this...

Was there a couple of times... No need to go back. I summerized it as Perkins with ugly decor

My wife will be disappointed. She and her mom liked it. I thought it was fine and dont recall thinking it was too pricey, and Im generally pretty cheap. Lots of food variety and worked will for the kids.

I went last month and thought it was fine. I spent less than 20$ for a nice sole dish and split an appetizer with my boyfriend.

One time visit for me as well. Chicken filet on the chicken parmesan was a little bigger than a deck of playing cards. Service was not grand either. Most places I give a second chance to, but not Mimi's.

I was looking at as I drove by it tonight. I feel part of the problem was it is hid dent over in the corner behind firebirds. If you weren't looking for it you would find other restaurants before tests one.

When they first opened they were wildly popular. So it wasn't the location. The company was supposedly bought by some conglomerate, and all the resulting cut corners sunk the chain.

A Google search for "Harrington's" doesn't bring back much: a pub in Ireland a a bar/grill in Keokuk, IA. So it wouldn't be a chain.

Been a while since I have had kids ordering from the Kids Menu portion of the offering. Looking at the menu on their web site and the kids menu items are 7.99 WOW unless things have changed a LOT in a few years not sure that will help to draw in families.

That's a pretty expensive kid's menu for a generic looking menu overall.

It's owned by Nate Harrington, who also owns Shamrock's Pub and Grill on 103rd and Fort. Quite the contrast in businesses! I will say they make a pretty decent burger at Shamrock's.

If Nate Harrington is listening, your breakfast needs to at least match what the Farmhouse Cafe offers, notably generous fruit sides and world-class cinnamon and pecan rolls (neither are mentioned in the on-line menu).

That's double most places. $4-$5 for a kids meal is what most places charge for kids meals.

I don't think Harrington's survived. It appeared to be closed when I drove by last night with a note on the window. Perhaps not... I don't mean to start rumors, but this may be the case. Their phone isn't working either.

It says out front that it's closed for plumbing repairs, but there were no contractors there when I drove by at 2 pm on tuesday.
