Little Espana - Rockbrook Village

Post by bigredmed »

Went to dinner here tonight. Same quality as at the original. More entre's and sandwiches. They will make paella for one. The owner is from Venezuela and added Venezuelan rums to the drinks menu.

Couple of new tapas and a Charcuterie option that was very nice.

Great environment. Will be going back.

Actually, it's closing. The last day is April 14. It also sounds like they may have a new plan for that spot.

Went here last night and spoke to the owner (who is a friend of a friend), he said the main reason he is closing it is he's getting tired and just ready to do something new. The new restaurant (which he is doing as a partnership again, similar to what he did with the Benson location) is going to be Latin American food ranging from Central America to Colombian and Argentinian food, and will be more casual, like street food. I didn't catch the name. He says it will likely be opened within 3 weeks of Little Espana's closing.

The name is going to be 'Hunger Block' after the area in Venezuela where food vendors gather.

Yes that's it! I knew he said it but couldn't remember, but that was after 2 pitchers of sangria and 2 on-the-house, very generously filled porrons lol.
