I can't find a ton of info about when and where. Saw something that say coming in 2016.

Supposedly they are looking to be near 25th & Farnam... The former Smoke Pit building?
They will have 5 year round and 4 seasonals to start...

Another brewery going into an up and coming neighborhood on Farnam? We have all seen how that works out.

I haven't had a chance to try any of their beers, they were at the Benson Brewfest, but I wasn't, and they weren't at the Omaha Beerfest... They will be at the Nebraska Beerfest later this year though... After again drinking a bunch of shitty beer at Stinson I don't know if I will go to Werner, but they will have a few breweries that might make me too interested...

Yes, very Mucha! I was told by them that Art Nouveau will be their branding theme.

I know one of the owners of this place. Very passionate about beer, I would be very surprised if this stuff wasn't awesome.

Year Round Beers:

Amen American Wheat 5.4% ABV
An unfiltered wheat designed with a rich, malty body in mind, and crisp, citrus flavor. A beer so drinkable, you'll want to throw your hands up and holler, AMEN!

Psalm Saison 8.9% ABV
An Imperial Saison, captures the zesty-spiced characteristics of a traditional saison while amplifying the malty body and creamy head, resulting in a high-gravity thirst quencher.

Convert Citra IPA 7.5% ABV
Designed as a SMASH beer, using a Single Malt and Single Hop, the Convert IPA beautifully showcases all that the Citra hop has to offer! With an appearance of pale yellow, the aroma and flavor capture the luscious tropical, floral and citrus notes with balance, crisp clarity, and subtle bitterness. If you didn't love IPA's before, this is sure to make you a believer.

9th Plague Black IPA 8.5% ABV
This Imperial Black IPA was named after the ninth plague of darkness scourging the Egyptian's in Biblical times. Bold dark malts with roasted chocolate flavor create a sweet foundation while paired with bold bittering hops for the finish. We love a good IPA even when it's a bit sinister.

Almighty Stout 8.5% ABV
A chocolate oatmeal stout with a velvety smooth mouth-feel and rich chocolate finish. The balance of aroma and flavor makes it easy to savor year-round.

I talked with them briefly at the Great Nebraska Beerfest. They were more concerned about talking to their friends there than 'new' clients.

Clients? You mean investors or potential customers?

I think Kickstarter is a horrible idea when you need to raise so much money for such a local specialized thing. They need investors and loans.

Vis Major Brewing (35th and Center)

Post by jelizh »

Possible small brewery tasting room at 3501 Center in addition to another food/drink retailer next door. There has been a Request to rezone area between the old Emmy Gifford and new Abelardo's.

** Should add the request was submitted by Clarity Development.

The abandoned looking store front on the south side, or that small building east of Richie's chicken?

If I understand correctly, it is the abandoned looking building on the south side that was supposedly a grocery store a long time ago. They may be restoring the apartment(s) above as well. Too soon to know, rezoning not yet approved.

This would be a great improvement for the area. That block of Center is pretty depressing.

It gets quite a bit of traffic, so I could see the right business doing well.

Talked to the owners at the Brewer's BBQ this weekend. Construction has begun and hope to be open late this year.

Main floor will be the tasting room, the lower level will be the brewery.

Speakeasy finds new life as brewing company near Hanscom Park

Beginning to break ground, demo, excavate, and pour new footings at the brewery site. Time to bring this hundred year old building into the 21st century.

The owner of Vis Major made a facebook event called "Share your vision for Center Street". Seems like a lot of public interest in this area. Could see some good things in the future.

Went to Vis Major last night. The place was packed. Tried several beers and they were all good. The Mosaic muse was my favorite, even brought home a crowler of it! Definitely going back.

Stopped in here last night for the first time. It is very nice inside. I had a Sweet Tree -- Coffee Cherry Porter - it was ok. Then had The Almighty Imperial Stout. That was good and yes that is a toasted marshmallow.

The Almighty Imperial Stout is my favorite local beer. Overall, Vis Major may be my favorite local brewery. With only a couple of exceptions, I've liked everything I've tried there. They never cheat you on the alcohol content either. A couple beers at this place and I'm usually good. I highly recommend Vis Major.
