Baela Rose Restaurant in Dundee

Post by Coyote »

I have been following this rumor for a few days now, and can almost confirm a new exciting restaurant in Dundee called Baela Rose.
Owner Chef will be Kyle Anderson and co-owner partner Rose. Kyle has worked as a chef in the kitchens of Daniel Boulud in New York and Charlie Trotter in Chicago, and most recently the owner of Slow in Berkeley. He is a graduate of Johnson & Wales University. Most likely to be an affordable gourmet restaurant.

Lets hope they put some nice big windows in the front.

I think that building would look much better without the white paint. I never understand why people paint brick buildings like that.

The liquor license pending sign is up in the window of the white building next to Max I. Walker.

Looking at that picture of the Lexus SUV, it seems that the building used to be all windows on the front and they were removed and bricked up. I'm not familiar with that building, so I could be wrong.

This and the new build further west are great adds. Now just need good tenants below Mark's and in the Beer and Loathing location. Lots of potential still.

Mass exodus of Grey Plume employees, spearheaded by Chef de Cuisine John Engler going to Baela Rose (both Kyle Anderson and John Engler worked at V. Mertz). Not all are going to Baela Rose, but Grey Plume is losing quite a few people for various reasons, including the charcuterie recall.
