Re: Leadbelly (Midtown Crossing)
Just got word from Lincoln this morning, it is the Haymarkets expansion to MC.
It should be an excellent addition!

This will be nice for that area, or anywhere in Omaha for that matter.
For the record NEBUGEATER does not equal BUGEATER !!!!!!!

LeadBelly Chooses Midtown Crossing for Omaha Location
Midtown Crossing wrote:Omaha, Neb. – A long-simmering plan to bring LeadBelly’s brand of flavorful, affordable dining to Midtown Crossing is finally coming to fruition. The Lincoln-born concept – billed as a “Contemporary American Pub” – is taking over the space formerly occupied by Ingredient with an expected February launch date.
“We’re very much a casual-comfortable place where you can come in both with friends as well as family,” says Mike Martin, a co-owner of Red Herring Concepts, the hospitality company that runs LeadBelly.
The restaurant specializes in made-from-scratch, high quality pub food from around the world, including gourmet burgers, tacos, sandwiches and salads with a large selection of hand-crafted beers, whiskeys and wines – all at a “comfortable price point,” Martin says.
In a break from the Lincoln concept, LeadBelly-Midtown Crossing will feature an expanded entrée section that includes wood-fired pizzas and “a lot more steak, seafood and other dinnertime options that we feel might be an opportunity for us in Midtown.”
What will remain unchanged is a restaurant design that conveys comfort.
“We use a lot of reclaimed materials, everything from barn wood floors to reclaimed doors. So it’s going to give that feel of a ‘lived in’ look with just a little bit of a contemporary twist,” Martin says.
Red Herring Concepts began eyeing a Midtown Crossing address years ago. It just had to wait for a location with the right square footage to become available.
“We really feel like we have a concept that complements Midtown. We’re not doing something that someone else is already doing,” Martin says.
Now that the lease is signed, the Red Herring Concepts team, which also includes Tony and Wendy Young, is excited to introduce LeadBelly to an Omaha customer base.
“We’ve always wanted to expand,” Martin says. “Our big goal is to be a regional restaurant company with multiple locations throughout the Midwest.”

Lincoln brewpub to open Omaha site

I ate at the one in Lincoln today and thought it was excellent. Welcome addition.

The signage is up, but they have not yet opened.
Re: Leadbelly (Midtown Crossing)
I heard they are really itching to open, but have been having troubles. They blew out all the fire alarms due to bad wiring.nativeomahan wrote:The signage is up, but they have not yet opened.

Do you think they will do something about the loud environment when it was Ingredient?

Re: Leadbelly (Midtown Crossing)
We have eaten there twice. First time was OK second time not so much. The pizza dough is soaked in champagne so it is an acquired taste. THe kids and i did not enjoy! Teh Burger with Peanut butter and Raspberry jalapeno jelly was pretty good.
Re: Leadbelly (Midtown Crossing)
I was in Lincoln on Tuesday and decided to check this place out. It wasn't bad - the leadbelly's aren't quite as good as a Dinker's or Stella's, but they have a pretty extensive menu and chicken options for all of the leadbelly's. I think this place will do pretty well at Midtown Crossing, as they are moderately priced and a nice lower-key alternative to Saints.

Re: Leadbelly (Midtown Crossing)
A friend ate at the recently opened MTC location. He liked the appearance of the place. The food, not so much.
Re: Leadbelly (Midtown Crossing)
A larger group I was with ate at Leadbelly MTC right before Covid struck and every one of us was impressed with the food. Several different dishes amongst us. But then Covid struck and either by cause or coincidence, it was absolutely terrible on two more visits since Covid. I have been wondering if they were going to survive. Too bad. I hate seeing these places close.
My old signature got too old. So old it was getting almost as old me as me. Yeah, it was up there in years.
