"7 Monkeys" renamed "7M Grill"

Post by djc311 »

I didn't bother driving thru the lot, but in front of the new Hy Vee on 158th & Maple is a strip center that's slowly filling up. I drive by there daily to get to my store, but today I noticed there's been a new sign installed that says "7 Monkeys". Just as a guess, is it a bar or club?

I liked 12 monkeys... Unfortunaely it sounds as if 5 of them may have died or at least gone solo...

My niece would hate it if I changed her song - but maybe they are related:

7 little monkeys sitting in a bar,
one got drunk and hit the ground hard,
his friend's looked at him and did remark,
give me your keys for you no car.

6...

I stopped by 7 Monkeys on Friday. Very nice. Once you go in you would never know you are in a strip mall. Seemed like a sort of ultra lounge concept you see in Vegas. The strip mall here did add some fountains to the west of 7 monkeys. This place had a large crowd, will get bigger as word spreads. The Maple St. corridor out here really has a large collection of bars/lounges now.

Also, it is completely smoke free. Not sure since they are new if they had to, or they figured why stink the place up just before they have to go smoke free anyway.

Nichole Aksamit - Omaha World-Herald wrote:Northwest Omaha eatery 7 Monkeys has a new owner, a new chef, a new vibe and a new name.

Omahan Graeme Swain purchased the restaurant at 15805 West Maple Road and rechristened it 7M Grill last weekend.

Swain said the restaurant now is more bistro than bar — with upscale international flavors on the menu; an earlier closing time; and a more modern and subdued dining room with black tablecloths, candles and local artwork replacing the tropical, Husker and tiki touches of the former Monkeys.

My son got a 27 on his ACT. No this score is not as high as what Jeff's son achieved. But one has to remember the paternal gene-pool my son has to overcome. On a PGPAB [Paternal Gene-Pool Adjusted Basis], my son's score is a 37 and Jeff's son's PGPAB ACT score is 19.

Interesting. I haven't been out there in a couple years, but it always seemed good and busy.
