Lucky Bucket wrote:With Memorial Day coming and parties to follow, we want to make sure everyone is aware Lucky Bucket kegs are available for sale in either 5 gallon kegs or 13.2 gallon kegs.  They are available at any location where kegs are sold (Hy-Vee is one possible choice).  When ordering a keg for any event, give your neighborhood beer guy a few days notice as they probably do not have Lucky Bucket kegs immediately on hand.  If they are unfamiliar with the name, then inform them Premier Midwest is the distributor for Lucky Bucket and kegs are available through them (that should clear up any confusion).

We also bottled our first six packs of Lucky Bucket Lager last Thursday!!  And we hope to have them on the shelves of Hy-Vee in 3 - 6 weeks.  So look for the Bucket in your neighborhood Hy-Vee soon.  Thanks for all the support, and we'll keep you in the loop as more new things happen.

It should be available in 6-packs by mid April.
Did they pull out of the Dell?  I was looking forward to trying some after remembering that they were supposed to be there, and the waitress at the Dell had never even heard of Lucky Bucket, and even went up to the bar to ask if they had any on tap.  No dice, I was disappointed!

Lucky Bucket Brewery wrote:Lucky Bucket Pre-Prohibition Style Lager 6-packs are now available in a few select stores.  Beertopia (36th and Farnam) has the Lager available now, Whole Foods (I-80 and Dodge) will have Lucky Bucket available Thursday, May 28th, and Mr. Butts (36th and Q) will have the beer available by next Friday, June 5th. Please spread the word by telling all your friends, family, and coworkers about Lucky Bucket 6-packs.  It is an exciting day for us and we thank you for the support.  Oh, and to find the nearest Lucky Bucket Lager near you, go to our beer finder at http://www.luckybucketbrewing.com.

A couple another notes: Lucky Bucket merchandise will be available for sale sometime next week at Beertopia (36th and Farnam).  We are delivering t-shirts, aluminum tack signs, and pints glasses soon.  You may also purchase a pint of Lucky Bucket Lager next door at the Crescent Moon!

- Lucky Bucket is hosting two beer events this week:

The first event will be held at the Waterfall Lounge (10208 S. 168th Ave. - next to Tiburon golf course) on Thursday, May 28th, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Our second event will be at Heidelbergs (3510 N 167th Cir.) on Friday, May 29th for happy hour from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Please join us at one or both of these events as we always enjoy the company and are never afraid to share a pint or two.

As many of you know, Lucky Bucket has been brewing their Pre-Prohibition at Schillingbridge Winery and Micro Brewery in Pawnee City. Well they finally have found a local place around 120th and Centennial (just south of Southport and not far away from the new Royals Stadium :P ) and are heading out today to pick up their new Brewing system for that location. So we should be getting some real local brewing in La Vista shortly!

Just looking at my copy of the La Vista CityWise newsletter which shows a permit has been issued to Solas Distillery for a 4,300 s.f. tenant finish.  11941 Centennial Road Suite #1.  Limited research shows they intend to do Vodka and Rum as well as Lucky Bucket beer.  Hopefully they can arrange to have a tasting/tour area as well.

Lucky Bucket Brewing wrote:- Greetings Everyone - We have been busy brewing away at the new Lucky Bucket brewery here in La Vista.  We are finally starting to get all the stores refilled with Lucky Bucket Lager six packs.  Hopefully over the next couple of weeks all of our retail outlets will be fully stocked and ready to go, including Bakers, No Frills, and Bag and Save.

I would like to give everyone an update on some new things happening here at the brewery - First off, we have officially begun our brewery tours.  The times for the tours are:  4 - 7 p.m. every Thursday and 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Saturdays.  Please come out and see the place.  We will show you around the facilities, answer any questions you may have, and (the best part) offer you beer samples!  Bring as many people as you would like.  The more the merrier!  If for some reason the times listed above do not work for you or your group give us a call and we can schedule another time for a tour. Zac Triemerts Master's Thesis from Scotland - a hand casted copper distillery.

Image

The distillery was fired up for the first time Thursday - Vodka will be ready in December, Rum in a year.

Image

State made them place a fence between the distillery and the brewery.

Image

Zac explaining the brewing process.

Image

Bottling and crowning machine. I think he said they can bottle 40 cases per hour.

Image

Joss Vodka - the bottles from France themselves cost $3.80 a piece - they hope to keep the store price under $30.00
The water is imported from the Oglalla Aquifer in OshKosh. Organic grains from Nebraska.

Image

Rum will be darker with aging. Molasses is from Louisiana

Image

Grain bin in back - no dragging 50 lb bags around.

Forgot to say that Certified Evil should be out by now also.  This is a strong Belgian-style golden ale as the base beer as well as locally-grown hops and a proprietary yeast blend. It has been aging in oak for just over one year.

Also - I heard they sampled their first batch of Vodka and from what I heard it is was smooth. They made a cranberry vodka batch and from what I heard you really could not taste the vodka.

The Brewery and Distillery tour was Great!

The beers were Good.  The IPA was great if you like the Full Flavor, hoppie beer.  Certified Evil was really smooth and didn't have the strong after taste that the IPA had.  I am big in to Hops and preferred the IPA, but between the three there was something for everyone!

Now the Vodka!  AMAZING!  That was the smoothest vodka I have ever had.  Its great that Nebraska's first distillery since prohibition is TOP OF THE LINE!  His self built distillery makes the highest quality vodka around.  He did a tasting at Whole Foods with 5 Premium Vodkas, Martini's and Straight Vodka.  Solas was fist in both categories!

We had a small turnout, but we will definitely be having another meet when more people can go.
