From their FB page

THE BIG REVEAL! What is that big yellow barn? It's the centerpiece of our new chicken-themed area at Vala's, our biggest addition ever, The Egg Scramble. This family-friendly dodge-ball egg-straveganza is what everyone is going to be clucking about this fall!

The scoop on the coop: Vala’s hatches new attraction

They stated that they expect between 250,000 - 300,000 people this year. Could be a record year along with the zoo also having record attendance of 2 Million this year.
The site of the new chicken yard was a soybean field last year, Vala said, and there’s still room for more expansion.

He hopes to soon add a larger chicken coop with a variety of live chickens for visitors to see.

Looks like Vala's increased their ticket prices yet again. For 2017 admission is $18.95/person for Fri, Sat and Sun in October or $17.95 if you purchase online.

They open 3 weeks from this Friday on Sept 15th.

I wonder if an adult pumpkin patch would work. I myself enjoy the ambiance of the place and the hay ride, but I don't have kids so it feels a little weird to be there, and a little annoying. A pumpkin patch with a bit more adult entertainment and some bars would be a pretty cool concept.

Ever been ro Shady Lane in Crescent? Not exactly a pumpkin patch, but Friday and Saturday nights it's a lot of adults drinking on hay rack rides. No bar, it's BYOB.

Yes, shady lane might be a bit more your style. It is interesting to think if there was a pumpkin patch with adults only. There are places like the Bellevue Pumpkin Ranch that have haunted hayrack rides. I assume those would be a little bit more adult oriented.

They already sold out on the special for the season ticket passes. Single admission tickets are still on sale though.
