Yeah, I'm getting that too. But if you remove the /index.php it works.

Edit: and it works fine on my phone...weird. Do you have Cox?

Yeah. It works on my phone fine too. I noticed it doesn't give me the error message when www. is included in the address.

A caveat that I know nothing about these things.

This forum has had problems over the years while I haven't had similar problems with the Des Moines or Kansas City forums. What is the difference with the forums? Is it the host or the software or something else?

Just curious.

It was mainly hosting problems that led to the problems last time around. Once those got straightened out, some people's cookies were causing weird issues. After renaming the cookie, the issues stopped. My guess is it is another hosting problem. Now this time around, I find it strange that some URLs have issues and some don't and that some ISPs don't seem to have any issues. Either way, it seems like another caching issue and not a software issue.

I got this for the first time this AM. Got in by doing a google search for a specific thread and then was in and already still logged in.

For me it seems to be back to normal and I don't have to do my work around.

I got that general error page this morning. It was the Colonial Hotel thread.

I manage the back end of UrbanDSM.com, which uses PHPBB. I would be happy to help if needed. :)

I wonder if the host has the max database connections set to 50 per user. I just saw an instant where 46 users were online.

That could have been a while back and the host has since lowered it to allow more sites per server. Just a thought. :)

Which moderator is deleting multiple posts, I assume omahacowboy? I don’t want to tell you how to run your site but discussion seems to be lacking and deleting posts really does not help things.

Just random discussions, just seemed strange that things were getting deleted all together.

Your assumption is incorrect..

The last time I deleted a post was December 17th, 2017..

Although I have deleted posts in the past that were personal attacks/insults, or flat out inappropriate..But no Linkin, I don’t go through the forum and delete posts frequently. I’d rather leave evidence of the individual opinion for all to see...

I recently moved some posts out of a transportation thread that spiralled into a one condemning Millinials for ruining the world, and put it in the Bar & Grill forum, but nothing was deleted. I will probably do the same thing tonight with the Landmark thread. You know people like to hijack threads on this forum...

I’m glad you plan to do that, lest I be accused of deleting posts again, lol.. As it was something I was considering doing myself :thumb: ...

Are we about to turn into an Italian website selling jewelry, like that time we turned into a Russian website selling generic viagra?

Just curious if anyone else has had this problem. I have tried taking a photo with my iPhone and posted it to the forum but I get an error message that it is too large. This also happens later if I try posting from my iPad BUT if I go to my computer it post up just fine.

There is about a 200k limit that you can post here. My cell phone takes about a 5m image...

With the previous outage, we took the opportunity to upgrade phpBB to 3.2. As of right now, all previous extensions with the exception of the Advanced BBCode Box have been disabled. I'll leave it up to the admin to re-enable any compatible ones.

Please let us know if you run into any problems!

It appears your preferences were reset. I like to see posts descending (last post at the top) and avatars turned off... So if you see features different from before check you control panel.

Speaking of modifications, is there a feature available or can be added that would allow users to filter the unread topics view to exclude certain subforums, or even certain posts? For example, if a user didn’t want to see unread posts in the Sports or Elsewhere subforums, they could set a preference that would prevent those from showing up in the unread view. Note: I used those two subforums as an example only. Not a biggie, but it would be a cool feature.

Has there been any changes lately? For the last couple of days, I get a file download whenever I go to the homepage (index.php).

Edit: the issue seemed to go away after I cleared my temp internet files.

Yeah, just a weird issue on my end. Chrome was downloading files of the web page instead of showing it.

I was looking for info on this as well. Viagra and stuff for sale everywhere. My guess is a shared password leak... Some accounts might need to be deleted / locked...

The russian stuff comes from new accounts that are blocked and IP's blocked as soon as the ADMIN can.

I haven't gone through the sign up in a while, but I wonder if the captcha could be updated. Maybe the bots know how to get around this one now and that another one is needed.
