DC number 1?  Honolulu even being on the list?   Sounds like questionable data analysis.

Washington is a great place for families if you make 250k and can afford to send your kids to private schools. I'm wondering if they're considering metro area. I wouldn't raise a family in the District---the public schools are lousy; it's become a city of the rich and poor.  Most of the 'burbs, though, have excellent schools, low crime, and a diverse population from all over the world---kids are exposed to a lot of cultures and experiences.

Great town.  If you are rich.  If you are active duty military on base housing.  Otherwise, housing is very expensive, and jobs are tight.   Add in the racial animosity that exists in some segments, and it can be less than a top ten experience.  Ask any of the homeless beach dwelllers.

From the DC Description
If your kid enjoys visiting the National Air and Space Museum, imagine fostering his love of airplanes with trips to nearby Gravelly Point Park for front-seat views of the takeoffs and landings at Reagan National Airport.
Seriously?  Who the eff takes out a lawn chair to watch a Delta flight take off???  That's quality of life?  Hahahahahaha...

I spent some time at Coyote Point watching planes land at SFO and was not the only one there.

You have your own Point?

In the bay area, even.  Nice.
