Shouldn't that be called 'Tax unfriendly states' ?  or do they mean friendly to the tax collector?

We keep some pretty good company with those other hippie liberal states.

I am surprised we are not higher on the list.  The things saving us is that our income taxes and sales taxes are in the middle.  We are one of only a few states with an inheritance tax.  Our estate tax is insane.  Our personal and real property taxes are a joke (with MAJOR emphasis on the real estate tax).  I am amazed that we have all the budget problems we do.

You'll know when we have budget problems when we start selling entire tracts of highways to private companies.

Meanwhile, I'll gladly pay my high property taxes in return for the public education my kid's are getting.  I have no complaints.
