Moving To Omaha and Need Help!

Post by Linkin5 »

Hi,
I'm finally moving to Omaha at the end of this school year(I am SO excited,) and me and my fiance are trying to find an affordable apartment in the midtown/UNO area (or any other apartments that aren't too far west.)  We are looking for a 2-3 bedroom that is affordable and in a nice neighborhood for our daughter.  If anyone could give me any ideas/advice or anything that would be awesome.  Thank you so much!

Yay!

The Elmwood Park/UNO, Midtown, and Dundee areas are fabulous.  I'm sure you'll find something you'll love.

Absolutely the way to go. Interest rates are down, prices are down! Time to buy.

Benson always has some nice, affordable houses for sale.

Just make sure you get a fixed-interest loan!

Linkin, I can help you find a place here in Nebraska.  I can't help you in Council Bluffs because I don't have my license over there.  If you're interested in working with me just PM me or email me (avanzee@npdodge.com).

Smart move on deciding  to buy!

This is a great apartment in the downtown area for half the price of a loft. Check it out!

This is a beautiful 2 bedroom apartment, with a large sized Den that can be used as a third bedroom or office area. There is one large bathroom. The apartment is located off 13th and Center and is just a few, short blocks away from the Old Market. This apartment is over 1,000 sq ft and features exposed brick, large windows, wood floors, off-street parking, skylight, on site laundry, and a beautiful courtyard. This is a small and quiet apartment complex with 3 units total. This unit will be available for move in at the end of December. For more information or to set up a time to see it please call Colleen at 402-926-8880.

13th and Center?

That's more than "a few short blocks" from the OM.

3 blocks. 23 blocks.  What's the difference?

However, it is nice to see some landlords are still willing to prey on people's ignorance to get a rent check coming in.

Google Maps says 1.1 miles.  I counted 12 "blocks".

Looks fine to me and it's not too much of a walk.  Plus it's close to the Bohemian Cafe - a nice bonus.

If I lived there I'd probably be like Big E and not cross into NoHo.  (North of Howard)

Actually, I'm not the landlord. I am a tenant in that building, and saw there was a unit opening up. I work downtown and I walk to work in the summers and it takes about 15 minutes. When I drive it takes about 3 minutes. "A few short blocks" is at least what it seems like to me, but I enjoy walking and I walk quite a bit. Anyway, it's a really cool apartment for anyone who is interested.

So Big E, do you live in SoHo? SoMa in SoHo?

I think we could be in SoHo too but where we are is more in the up and coming LotsaHo District adjacent to Omaha's wonderful DedHo area.

DTO, you know I'm moving out west to shorten my commute.

I know. And I hate you for it. By the way tell Mrs. Big E to stop yelling obscenities at wags and I on our way to work. Thank you.
