Police Chief

Postby HR Paperstacks » Tue Aug 14, 2012 3:39 pm

Didn't know whether to start a new thread for this or put it in the Budget: Police thread. Mods, feel free to merge if you think it fits better there.

Anyways, it looks like a new police chief was just chosen today - Todd Schmaderer, a 16 year veteran of OPD.

Thoughts?

He has at least 9 years before he's eligable for retirement, I think it's a smarter pick than Omaha has had in some time.

He sounds like a good choice.

At least he pledges to remain in his post for the long haul.

I know what he means but the long haul based on the last 4 chiefs might just be two years!
For the record  NEBUGEATER does not equal BUGEATER    !!!!!!!

Well he told the OWH: "It's important for an executive or a police chief to be looking five to seven years down the road, I can provide that stability."

Hopefully he makes good on that statement. I'd like to see him remain at least 10-15 years before retiring though.
