Oh yeah, real controversial. Her standing on the truck and posing with two firefighters. Â :roll:Coyote wrote:Oops:

If anyone can get up there, then who cares... Waste of time and tax dollars instigating this.

Yep, just more fake outrage perpetuated by the "bored" media. I guess if this is "news", then that is good news.Bosco55David wrote:Pretty much a non issue. Local news trying to drum up ratings like usual.
The "problem" is that this story will get good comments on the new's Facebook Page, and that's want local news is all about these days...S33 wrote:Yep, just more fake outrage perpetuated by the "bored" media. LOL WUT?!?
Kind of like the whole TM/GZ media distraction, perpetuated by the executive office and his henchman, Eric Holder. : )RNcyanide wrote:Good lord. I can't decide if they legitimately have nothing else better to do or if there's something going on that they want to distract us from.
Yay for balanced news coverage!!! I wonder what we've missed about the NSA's activities thanks to that?S33 wrote:Kind of like the whole TM/GZ media distraction, perpetuated by the executive office and his henchman, Eric Holder. : )RNcyanide wrote:Good lord. I was being more facetious, but it definitely is a good example of a non-story taking the headlines thanks to the media and president. I'm sure Americans have more important |expletive| to worry about than Trayvon Martin and Zimmerman, just like Omaha's don't really give a flying |expletive| about some chick sticking her |expletive| out on a fire truck.RNcyanide wrote:Yay for balanced news coverage!!! Erin Golden: World-Herald staff writer wrote:Marty Bilek, Stothert's chief of staff, said the decision to have police investigators probe the incident was made "for the sake of fairness and impartiality," given recent dust ups between the Mayor's Office and fire administrators.
Erin Golden: World-Herald staff writer wrote:Omaha's fire union has filed a lawsuit against the City of Omaha, Mayor Jean Stothert and Fire Chief Mike McDonnell. The union said the mayor's budget, which calls for firefighter layoffs, demotions and pulling rigs out of service violates the labor contract the union has with the city.
Funny I honestly didn't even know that she was pregnant haha my ignorance of said baby was a shock to everyone at work... I guess other countries news is better than our own at this point.jessep28 wrote:Don't forget the royal baby.S33 wrote:I was being more facetious, but it definitely is a good example of a non-story taking the headlines thanks to the media and president. Well, HerHonor has it in for the Fire Department, the Fire Chief, and the Fire Union, so it's a convenient excuse to come down very heavy on them.RNcyanide wrote:Good lord. Saw the pic from the OWH and can't see how this gets any kind of investigation. Â What does is when they use their facility for a bachelor party or perhaps have photos that would only be shown in the "european edition" of the OWH.RNcyanide wrote:Good lord. Totally forgot about that. A bit unprofessional of her if that is her modus operandi, but understandable.bigredmed wrote:Saw the pic from the OWH and can't see how this gets any kind of investigation. I suspect that there is enough evidence of some error that it warrants an investigation. The fire chief was trying to cover it up by having his brother-cousins, er fellow firemen investigate it. Stothert wants some serious scalpage with this guy and is going to let the OPD have at it so she can wait for the head to fall into the basket and keep her hands clean.
The fire chief doesn't understand that she is the wife of the guy who spent a couple of decades as the fire department's MD. Much of that time as an unpaid volunteer who was rudely s-canned by this chief. He knows where the bodies are buried and pillow talk is way more powerful than a job action. He is like a slice of Orsi bread at Louie M's, toast.
Hopefully let it go and move on to more important things...Uffda wrote:So then what does the mayor do if OPD investigates and finds no wrong doing?

Try that at your job Omababe. Â We let kids come into our office for different reasons. Â I assure you this type of behavior opens up a completely different can of worms that would not be tolerated in 99% of workplaces.Omababe wrote:Well, HerHonor has it in for the Fire Department, the Fire Chief, and the Fire Union, so it's a convenient excuse to come down very heavy on them.RNcyanide wrote:Good lord. Also a convenient way to drive a wedge into the solidarity between the Police/Fire communities.
Jeesh! It's a bachelorette party! It's good clean fun! Every fire station I've ever known invites people to come in and yes, look at the equipment and yes, climb on it.
(Maybe she's p*ssed because she wasn't invited to the b'ette party?)
Just watch, there will be some kind of an over-reaching new "policy" regarding civilians in fire stations!
I know, right? Cute little kids are cool. Attractive women are not. God forbid we let those uptight losers get offended.joeglow wrote:Try that at your job Omababe. One of my friends from back home is an OFD firefighter. When this all came out, he posted literally about a hundred pictures he had taken over the years of little kids who had come in and wanted to see the firetrucks. And yes, almost all of them were on/in the equipment.jessep28 wrote:The only thing I think needs to be addressed is letting people stand on the equipment. KFAB wrote:"Omaha Police Department has determined the information alleging criminal behavior was clearly unsubstantiated. Â However, there are possible workplace rules violations that will be forwarded to Fire Chief McDonnell for appropriate disciplinary action if warranted."
... and because of this incident, there will most likely be some kind of new "policy" on this.Bosco55David wrote:When this all came out, he posted literally about a hundred pictures he had taken over the years of little kids who had come in and wanted to see the firetrucks.
