Oh, no, our kids are gonna do SEX!

Post by S33 »

Our newest morality marine, Ms. Weider, is going to save us from the word "sex" on magazine covers, and protect anyone under the age of 18 from knowing any sweet sex moves... :lafcry:

As a former reader of the magazine, I happened to pick up an issue and was reading it and was completely shocked at how pornographic and explicit the content had become. I immediately thought of my young teenage brothers and it horrified me to think that they and their friends could be reading this material, and the damage it would do to them if they did,” Weider told FOX411’s Pop Tarts column. “So I decided to do something about it.
Oh yeah, Weider, those poor teenage boys will be emotionally crushed... :lafcry:

Anyone who's ever raised a child will tell you that the topic of kids becoming sexually active is very touchy!

Some believe that if you limit their exposure to anything remotely sexual in nature, they will be less likely to become active.

Kids are curious. They will seek out the answers to their questions and yes, they will follow their instincts and urges.

Yes, some think it's best to avoid educating them correctly.

We had something called "playboy hill" about the time I was 8 years old. It was a little mound in an undeveloped part of our subdivision where we hid nudy mags, magazines which a friend of ours stole from his father.

Cosmo is joke to most teenage boys...

And some of us define correctly as the parent educating the kids and not the magazines on the supermarket rack.  Unfortunately, we live in a society where more and more people want to rely on OTHERS to do their work for them (even with their kids).  I wonder how that mentality is fostered.

Finally, Omababe, some of use don't think teaching our kids how to perform a rimjob is "educating them correctly."

I really want to read this issue of cosmo that explains rim jobs that all the little children of Omaha are going on about these days.
because I fear my technique may not be the best and would like to learn.

Oh, so you weren't discussing the topic at hand (i.e. what is in Cosmo)?

I'd have to think people signing petitions asking supermarkets to parent for them instead of doing it themselves plays a factor in there somewhere.

I think even you are smart enough to see the flaw in that (though I don't doubt you think yourself clever).

People should parent and quit expecting the whole world to be sanitized to their level of tolerance, or lack thereof.

And if this lady thinks her daughter is going to be corrupted by Cosmo...   wow, she's in for a shocker.

And probably The Shocker.

Awesome with the personal shots again, though.  What does one take for a chronic case of butt hurt?

Using that sh*tty logic, I should be able to tear into my wife in the middle of the street and it is YOUR problem if you don't like it.  Sorry, but your terrible logic is still terrible.  Although I do enjoy the flashbacks to my teenage years when I walked through life thinking I was so much more enlightened than everyone else and it was THEIR issue.  It is called common sense and common decency.

Some questions for your:

1. Why aren't didlo's for sale in the checkout line?
2. Why is "C*ck 'n P*ssy" not for sale in the checkout line?
3. Why are hardcore movies not for sale in the checkout line?

The answer is REAL simple (I think you can figure it out): there is a line in the sand where we, as a society, have agreed it is perfectly acceptable to own, but not appropriate to shove in people's face at a place EVERYONE has to to go to get their food.  The question then becomes "where exactly is that line?"  The idea that people would feel this way about Cosmo is not all that radical (go to most grocery stores here and you already see them putting black pieces of plastic in front of the magazine).

All that said, your line about "The Shocker" explains the level of rational thought we have come to expect from you.  I certainly don't understand why it is so hard for people to understand that we will talk to our kids about the joy and love expressed through ramming your hand up someone's a$$ and don't need a magazine in a very public forum to do it for us.

A thread about Cosmo, rimjobs, The Shocker and butt hurt is possibly the Best Thread Ever. ®

I don't see it going anywhere but up.

Regardless of all else I would like everyone to note the restraint I showed by not commenting on that.

yadda yadda

1. Why aren't didlo's for sale in the checkout line?
2. Why is "C*ck 'n P*ssy" not for sale in the checkout line?
3. Why are hardcore movies not for sale in the checkout line?
The answer to 2 and 3 is because porn is free on the internet now.

Anyway...

You're comparing Cosmo to these things and questioning my logic?  Ummm... ok.

Of course there's a line in the sand, and Cosmo is nowhere near it, unless you're a Pilgrim.

Ummmmm, no.  That is to establish the existence of said spectrum (i.e. 2girls1cup on one end and flowers on the other).

Again, by looking at how many businesses treat the magazine here, we must have a VERY shy, VERY large Pilgrim population.

No arguments there. This is the most uptight, Puritanical, butthurt, non-radical Islamic country on the planet.

Yes, butthurt is my word for the time being.  Deal.
