I haven't subscribed to HBO in years, but liked many series they produced when I did (I hate to admit that Deadwood was one) but I just saw a clip of the Newsroom:

And then just watched an hours worth of clips on youtube. I think the producers of Westwing are behind this, but I have to say, the clips on Santorum and Islam I saw were so cutting edge I couldn't believed these were really aired.

I just have to say, my, how far they are pushing it right now, I might have to get HBO again just for this.

I'm impressed by the range Jeff Daniels has as an actor.

On Newsroom he plays this guy:

Thanks for posting that. I was trying to figures out who he has played before. But now it seems his speech patterns are of a Tom Brokaw character.

What was that newscast movie with Holly Hunter, where the anchor was just the voice of the producer? This appears to be similar, but gives the anchor more of a character...

I really liked the the first season of the Newsroom. After that for me anyway it really fell off..
