So, I went to Borders to pick up some quality literature and stumbled upon this.  The kicker?  It was lying alone in the check out aisle.  One of two things happened here people...

1.  Someone pulled it off the shelf with every intention of buying it and decided at the last minute that it just wasn't in the budget for that day.

OR

2.  Someone pulled it off the shelf with every intention of buying it and decided that instead of letting the cashier know that he/she is a complete freaking moron, it's probably best just to leave it here on the Burt's Beeswax display.

It appears that this was on sale at Wal Mart at one time.   Just what any child needs.  A gigantic friend.  W-T-F is wrong with their marketing people and buyers?

I'm becoming more impressed with Nebraska media every day.

I'm almost picturing Ron Burgundy and the rest of the Anchorman staff running the joint.

Oh it's no different than any other market our size. However, if Ron Burgundy was anchoring I may actually watch the local news more often.

Ejacuweather on Steroids
Brought to our attention by an alert reader, this video of an AccuWeather meteorologist reflects what we figure goes on inside Jim Flowers anytime there's a chance of out-of-the-ordinary weather.

Compared to this guy, Giggly Jim looks like the model of self-control.

Ages ago (mid 80's) there was a mock commercial on Saturday Night Live for Colon Blow cereal ( Warning: May cause Abdominal distention). My brother was working at the Hy-Vee on 51st and Center and some woman asked if they had it in stock! :lafcry:

I found the video on hulu but I could not embed.

LOL!

When I worked in the lab of a local hospital, we jokingly referred to the industrial-strength purgative which is given prior to a colonoscopy as "Colon Blow", after the SNL skit, and it's very possible that the name somehow was given to a patient. Most pharmacies stock such things (Evacomag, Citronesia, Halflitely) for those who need them and some (Citronesia, IIRC) are OTC.

For some reason it reminds me of the time when Doug Williams was asked how long he had been a black quarterback.

Apparently Lindsay Lohan dosn't...

Lindsay Lohan sues E-Trade for $100 million

http://news-briefs.ew.com/2010/03/09/li ... s-e-trade/
Actress Lindsay Lohan has filed a lawsuit against E*Trade for $100 million, according to Reuters. In papers filed in Monday in Nassau County, New York, the Mean Girls star claims that one of the online brokerage’s recent TV ads featuring a ditzy, “milkaholic” baby girl named Lindsay is modeled after her and improperly invoked her “likeness, name, characterization, and personality” without permission, violating her right to privacy. Lohan is suing for $50 million in compensatory damages and an additional $50 million in exemplary damages. She also demanded that E*Trade stop running the ad. Calls for comment to lawyers on both sides have not been returned. The ad, which aired during the Super Bowl on Feb. 7, is part of a campaign featuring smart-aleck toddlers who play the market. In 2007, Lohan was ordered to spend a day in jail, undergo an alcohol education program, and spend three years on probation after admitting to drunk driving and cocaine possession.

If you haven't seen this one on Youtube, you should; it's awesome.  (embedding is disabled)

My wife and I had a rat terrier until she ran away while some friends were watching her a couple months ago (we were in Omaha looking at apartments!).  She wasn't quite that athletic or motivated; she would even start whining near the end of a long walk.
