I thought I saw that the signage was off last night and figured that this would start anytime.

There is a CenturyLink Sign up over the convention entrance facing 10th.  It looks temporary(I really hope it is temporary)

Yes it is, in the story in the World Herald last week, it stated that the permanent signage would go up near the middle of October.

There's a Kiewit Construction management trailer in the back (A) lot.  Is this related to the signage work, or is there other construction work going on at the Clink?  Its not flood stuff, the trailer just showed up this week.

Did they change some of the outside lighting on the building....looking at wowt's city cams the "half ring" part appears brighter, maybe even white.

While driving back from Ashland today, my wife and I noticed the Qwest signs up on I-80 (and I'm sure there are more on I-480 and other highways and streets).  I wonder who will be paying to change those signs and when they'll be switched out?  BTW, "Centurylink Center" will take up a lot more space on those green highway signs!

WOWT just said I 408 will close this week to replace a "large sign over 480 on the Missouri River" I bet it has something to do with this.

Not just CenturyLink Center - TD Ameritrade Park Omaha hasn't made it to any signs yet either. Prolly not a stretch to say NDOT was waiting to kill two birds with one stone.

Looks like they move it to Thursday night.

http://www.wowt.com/home/headlines/Upda ... 62403.html
Instead, the road work will take place Thursday, November 10th. Eastbound and westbound lanes of I-480 will be closed at the Missouri River from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Friday, November 11th.

The work was delayed due to the rainy forecast for Monday night.

Officials say they need to close he interstate to install a permanent sign structure.

Agreed!  The Qwest signage was pretty much perfect for the building, but this doesn't look half bad.

Last night when I drove by the Clink, it looked like they had the crane in place to hang the new sign on the south end of the Arena.

I just drove by there. They had a crew on the crane. It looks like they were placing the brackets/screw holes.   You can see the outline of the logo

Yea, it looked like they put new tiles because they were a slightly different color. I wish I had snapped a pic, but i guess it doesn't matter as it will be covered by the logo.

Judging by the pictures, I am assuming that the letters are not neon like the Qwest Center logo was.  I think the new logo looks alright but as mentioned on here before, the Qwest logo was pretty much perfect for the building, especially with the big "Q".

Well "technically" its still neon in there, just not exposed like the old sign.  I wonder if this is going to be back lit, that would be cool!

According to this rendering it appears that the logo is backlit, the "centurylink" part is going to be white, the "center" part green,  and the "omaha" part white.  I just hope that the lights below have green lenses on them similar to the way they had blue with the Qwest logo.

They haven't updated any of the accent lighting around any of the building yet.  Its all still the Qwest blue...

I am not sure if it was mentioned, but the blue/purple spotlights will alternate green/white/green/white all the way around the arena.  I think that's going to look really cool!

Good to hear, I figured they weren't going to leave it blue.

I disagree, the blue/purple looks better with the design and color of the building.  Adding more green and white will detract from the main sinage. Plus now it looks just like TD Am's lights.  The blue and green look fine together, just not with the green strip lighting.

great pics Brad, thanks.
