Both fountains were working today. The main fountain was shooting higher than it has in 2 years. I was on the 10th floor of the Landmark building and it appeared to be higher than that!

Did the lights on the little fountain work? I got great photograph of the big fountain with a kick |expletive| sunset last year, but I left the little fountain out of the photo because it wasn't working. In the past, even when its been on, the lights still haven't worked...

I went down this morning to try to re-create this photo from 2010, only with a working fountain in the photo. The trees are almost there, may be another day or so. However the weather is not looking good the next several days, I hope the trees don't loose the blooms... Unfortunately the fountain doesn't turn on until 8am. Photos would be a lot better if it was on by 5:45am or 6:00am...

Awesome!

I talked to my friend from the city tonight. He said these lights would not normally be on at this time of the day. The were only on because they have been working on them. The should only be on when the fountain is on.

Photo from about 5:45 this morning.

People that don't want to pay to park downtown.  Its always the first lot full during CU and UNO Games as well.
Parking in lot beside Heartland of America Park no longer free
Christopher Burbach:World-Herald staff writer wrote:The city set a three-hour time limit for the lot on weekdays. Vehicles parked there longer than that could be ticketed.

“If you're there for more than three hours, then we know you're not there for the park,” Smith said.
Maybe I'll find a spot now.

I see that Coyote posted that the Woodman and the Ped Bridge were blue, The fountain will also be blue.

All three (Tower, Bridge, Fountain) will be blue through memorial day.

The thought was great, but the colors didn't quite pan out tonight. The fountain was scheduled to be blue in support of Officer Kerrie Orozco, however only 1/4 of the lights actually turned Blue, the rest were stuck on this aqua color.

Nice.

While I was disappointed the blue didn't happen, I was much more disappointed to see the small fountain's lights are broken again.

Does the city allow kayaking or paddle boarding in the lake?

I have never seen it done, but I have also never seen a sign saying its not allowed.

That said, the property line between the city and ConAgra runs under the lake so I am guessing if you were too close to the ConAgra property, the could ask you to leave.

I was also told by a friend that the blue lenses in the big fountain were replaced and all the lights in the MUD fountain are now working.

Early this year! Usually the goal is Berkshire. Although, it looks like last year was only a week later.

Looks like it is almost 2 1/2 weeks earlier than last year. (April 29)

Love seeing the fountain on.

New gondola ready for those seeking love and adventure at Heartland of America Park
Heartland Gondolas owner Mike Biggs unveiled his new 22-foot long gondola Wednesday afternoon, and took it for its first spin around the park’s lake.

The new boat replaces Biggs’ last gondola, which was in service for 15 years. White LED lights around the inside of the boat will add to the ride’s ambiance, Biggs said.

Looks like they have torn up a big chunk of the east side of Heartland of America Park. I know they were doing sewer work on the north east corner, but now it appears its all ripped up all the way down to that little ped bridge thing that goes out and looks at the river. I saw this from the 480 bridge. Anyone had a closer look?

Haven't seen it in person, but it's more sewer work. Apparently the big tunnel they're digging was getting so inundated with water (who would have thought this, less than 100 feet from a river?) that the TBM was getting stuck. They've had to do several vertical bores ahead of the TBM to pump out water...
