Getting close to name tag deadlines...
Re: eOmahaForum's 10th Anniversary Meetup.
I know I am super late, but count me in for the Borgata portion. Finally figured out I was free.
Re: eOmahaForum's 10th Anniversary Meetup.
I don't know what to use as an avatar. But I will be there tomorrow

Re: eOmahaForum's 10th Anniversary Meetup.
Even if people didn't sign up, you are still welcome to join us (avatarless it not), but if you have a chance just drop into Borgata and say hello if nothing at all. Happy Anniversary all!
Re: eOmahaForum's 10th Anniversary Meetup.
I don't know what all the plans are... but it would be nice if at least one group photo could be taken early on, for those of us who can't make Borgata (okay, maybe I'm the only one who won't make that segment... I'll be over at the Old Matress Factory unfortunately).
Shoot for the Moon... if you miss, you'll land among the stars.

Re: eOmahaForum's 10th Anniversary Meetup.
Depending on what time I finish up with some projects here on my house, I should be able to make a tour or two before the meetup. Should I just make sure I'm out front of the correct location before the scheduled start time?

Unfortunately I am not making it back to the Gretna / Omaha area as soon as I thought today. I do not think I will make it. Really was looking forward to it too.
For the record NEBUGEATER does not equal BUGEATER !!!!!!!

Re: eOmahaForum's 10th Anniversary Meetup.
Good evening everyone,
Thank you for putting this together. I appreciate everyone that was there tonight and felt a good synergy from you all.
HRPaperStacks - hit me up. We ought to put our heads together in regards to an online presence. We both have lofty goals in that arena.
Brad - thank you for that poster. That is a remarkably high quality photo and canvas (not sure if that is the right terminology).
I have been a member since 'near' the founding. Seriously within a month of the founding. Although Erik (my current handle) wasn't registered in that month, it was created just months after the creation of my first (and lost) handle.
I'm sorry that I haven't posted a whole lot lately. It just seemed as if you all have a whole different level of knowledge when it comes to urban development. So I tend to really come off as a Kool-Aid drinker between my lack of urban-development cache coupled with my overly optimistic attitude.
So, for me, tonight was a real pleasure! I hope that tonight's discussion of putting this kind of event together more than once a year works out. I had a blast and I'd love to get to know you all more - especially since I have a deep respect for the amount of knowledge you all bring to this board.
PS - sorry for my grammar. I have very little ability to put together coherent sentences given my left-brained, programmer mentality. That and I have just downed 4 of those 18 busch beers

Re: eOmahaForum's 10th Anniversary Meetup.
Thanks for mentioning that Erik. A few people suggested that we should have more frequent forum meets even if it does not include tours. In the past almost every forum meet was scheduled around visiting a new development, sometimes before the public was invited. Let us know if you think a simple meetup would be favorable. We have had many unofficial meetups at local events like sporting events, coffee shops, and development forums (like transportation/street car discussion groups). I would be happy to arrange another informal forum meet, say, a springtime event if people are interested.
Oh, and if you have any suggestions, just PM me! (Thanks byrdrules!)

hey Coyote,
Thanks for responding. You have always had my deepest respects and are in my list of 'must-read' posters. Also loved the questions you gave out tonight. Your mindfulness is very obvious.
To your response in regards to my last message - I will let you know if I manage to think of any ideas that come to mind.

Yeah, thanks for organizing this. Good pics too; it's cool to see some of the earlier tours I was unable to be there for.
Re: eOmahaForum's 10th Anniversary Meetup.
Accidentally had my ISO up way too high for some of these, but here are some random shots from this weekend.
Re: eOmahaForum's 10th Anniversary Meetup.
I usually call them prints. Canvas is more like a fabric material and posters are usually mass produced on a printing press. That print should last 100+ years if its properly framed and displayed.Erik wrote:

Re: eOmahaForum's 10th Anniversary Meetup.
It’s been a loooong time since I’ve attended a forum meetup..and I miss them dearly..
Perhaps we can have a no frills Saturday, February 2nd, informal “Groundhog Day” meet up to commemorate the 15 year anniversary.. And hopefully celebrate an early Spring. We can hoist a few craft beers to celebrate ...

Re: eOmahaForum's 10th Anniversary Meetup.
Does anybody have inroads to a development site we could visit this winter?
I am drawing a blank right now...

Re: eOmahaForum's 10th Anniversary Meetup.
Don’t go changing dates and things . . . but if it worked out that the meetup didn’t happen until January 6 or later, then I could attend. And I could where black again. That photo is funny. I never noticed we were all in black.Omaha Cowboy wrote: ↑Wed Jan 02, 2019 10:19 pm It’s been a loooong time since I’ve attended a forum meetup..and I miss them dearly..

My son got a 27 on his ACT. No this score is not as high as what Jeff's son achieved. But one has to remember the paternal gene-pool my son has to overcome. On a PGPAB [Paternal Gene-Pool Adjusted Basis], my son's score is a 37 and Jeff's son's PGPAB ACT score is 19.
Re: eOmahaForum's 10th Anniversary Meetup.
^^^ Ooops, calendar dyslexic. Make that anytime February 6 or later if it would work out that way.

Re: eOmahaForum's 10th Anniversary Meetup.
I just picked February 2nd as a possible target date. If we do this,we simply need to pick a date and time that most works for everyone..and a forum meetup doesn’t need to be anything fancy.. I get just as much enjoyment sitting with fellow forum members drinking a cup of coffee or a few adult beverages and talking about metro Omaha...
