The Douglas County Board is considering a request by Woodmen of the World Life Insurance Co. for a property tax exemption on four properties in Omaha – a move that would knock most of the iconic Woodmen Tower and nearly $40 million in valuation from the county tax rolls.

Bad deal. If the law does really allow it, it should be changed. We can discuss whether government (local) services should be curtailed, but as they are they are already short and this would leave a mark!
