Workers are installing an 80-foot-tall banner today on the north side of the Park North public housing building. The mural, "You Are Here" by artist Watie White, features various residents, business owners and community leaders in the area.

If you are referring to the murals on the grain elevators, that was done by a non profit group that basically packed up and said Adios Omaha... Not sure who everyone thought was going to keep maintaining those after they left town.
Secondly, how long do you think most "Banner Style" murals are going to last. They are painted or printed on a fabric and not directly to the building. The murals on the grain elevator lasted much longer than any others. The Clink has had a couple, non lasting more than a year. FNB had one that lasted on the tower for a few weeks. Is it the Grain Elevator's responsibility to keep maintaining banners that they allowed someone else to hang on their property? Cities Responsibility?
Its been well over a year. Let it go and enjoy the new art.

Out of all of the public art displays in the city, those were by far my favorite. I'm still not happy about them being taken down.
When fortune smiles on something as violent and ugly as revenge, it seems proof like no other that not only does God exist, you're doing his will.
Agreed, the city should have found some way to keep them up or replace them with new ones periodically.I don't know how much it would cost but I believe the impact would be the same if not more than the white globes atop the street lights on Abbott drive.
