Southwest Iowa residents looking to offload some excess collectibles could earn some TV air time – and cash – as “American Pickers” returns to the state. Producer Jodi Friedman said the show’s destinations will be decided by participants.
Certain guidelines must be met to be considered for the show, including that Wolfe and Fritz only visit private collections large enough to allow the hosts to “spend a whole day at one location picking.”
Among the items the pickers are seeking include: old toys, including tin, wind-up, and cast iron; pre-1950s vending machines; motorcycles; old movie posters; unusual radios; vintage sports collectibles; classic motorcycle memorabilia; pre-1970s neon signs; and vintage collegiate items.

I cant stand American Pickers. I wish they would get off my History Channel. Them and that crooked bald headed Vegas pawn dealer are good for nothing but dumbing us down.

I don't know that he is crooked, but the scam of the "expert" that always undervalues an item so he can then weedle the seller into a low price has worn out.GRANDPASMUCKER wrote:I cant stand American Pickers. Frankly pawnshops just are not that interesting.
The American Picker scam of just 'running across" a whole garage full of rare antique motorcycles whilst "free styling" doesn't work anymore.

In my opinion, both shows jumped the shark when the blatant Subway plugs started. For example:

Apparently American Pickers was filming in downtown Omaha yesterday. They were by that old streetcar on 14th and Leavenworth.
