Restore Omaha events

Post by Vince Furlong »

If you care about older properties this is the conference for you!
For the past year a group of architects, architectural historians, conservators and other preservation and restoration professionals and enthusiasts in the Omaha community have been working to create an event that will educate Omaha residents and Nebraskans in all aspects of preservation and restoration. Restore Omaha is now a reality.

Join us November 5 in Mutual of Omaha’s newly renovated dome to hear 20 exciting speakers touch on all aspects of historic restoration. How can you restore an historic home? What does it mean to have a property listed as a local Landmark, on the National Register of Historic Places? Who in town knows how to patch old plaster? These are questions Restore Omaha will answer. Besides attending the informative sessions, attendees can get questions answered in the “Ask An Expert” area and visit with over 30 representatives of products, craftsmen and associations geared toward restoring, repairing and preserving historic buildings.

Tours on the evening of November 5 and the afternoon of November 6 will inspire attendees with views of restoration projects in Omaha’s Midtown area and Omaha’s neon signs.

P.S. Free Advice for your older or historic property! Register by October 24 to win a free consultation with John Leeke, a nationally recognized preservation consultant, the afternoon of Friday, November 4. See the registration form for complete details.
